London-based asset manager @Schroders, which oversees $1.1 trillion in assets, has launched a tokenized version of its Emerging Market Bonds strategy on @Solana ($SOL). The fund uses tokenization infrastructure from @Centrifuge and is the firm's first deployment on the Solana network.
According to CoinDesk, Schroders had $1.1 trillion (£867.8 billion) in assets under management as of June. The firm said on Wednesday it is working with Centrifuge to tokenize its Schroder International Selection Fund Emerging Market Bonds strategy.
How the Tokenized Fund Is Structured
The product is legally a feeder fund with an onchain share class, CoinDesk reported. It invests in Schroders' Emerging Market Bond Fund, so investors hold tokenized shares in the feeder fund rather than directly in the underlying Schroders fund. Share values track the fund's net asset value.
Centrifuge provides the infrastructure to issue and manage the tokenized assets. CoinDesk, citing the announcement, said the platform has more than $750 million in tokenized assets. A separate report by Crypto Briefing said Centrifuge reported $3.5 billion in cumulative tokenized assets under management as of the third quarter of 2026. The two figures use different measures and are not directly comparable.
Tokenization Moves Beyond Money Market Funds
The launch is part of a broader move by large asset managers into tokenized products. CoinDesk said Schroders' tokenization push is expanding beyond the cash-like products that have dominated the sector's early growth. It noted that the launch follows recent tokenization moves by Federated Hermes and New York Life's asset management arm.
It is not Schroders' first tokenization initiative. Money Marketing reported that the Central Bank of Ireland approved a tokenized share class of a US dollar money market fund, known as Schroders Onchain Active Returns (SOAR). That product uses Kinexys by J.P. Morgan's multi-chain tokenization platform.
Institutional activity on Solana is not new. In 2024, Fortune reported that Hamilton Lane, with more than $920 billion in assets under management and supervision, launched a private credit fund on the network. Centrifuge has also expanded to Solana, with Crypto Briefing noting that New York Life Investment Management extended its tokenized high yield bond strategy there after launching on Centrifuge in June 2026.
The Schroders launch adds another large traditional manager to the list of firms testing public blockchain infrastructure for actively managed strategies, rather than only cash-equivalent products.
