Shiba Inu continues to see significant token reserves on trading platforms, with recent on-chain data showing 87.5252 trillion SHIB currently held across exchanges. This marks a marginal day-over-day decrease of 0.18%, according to the latest figures. While this movement is modest, it signals a cautious shift after a period of accumulation by trading platforms.

Exchange reserves represent the volume of tokens maintained by platforms for immediate trading. An uptick in these reserves often points to greater potential sell-side liquidity, while sustained withdrawals suggest reduced supply available for quick sale. Despite the minor decrease this week, the massive absolute reserve figure indicates there is still considerable SHIB supply accessible on exchanges, tempering the odds of a rapid supply squeeze.

Netflow data gives a stronger indication of market shifts. SHIB recorded a 24-hour negative netflow of around -159.4 billion tokens, signaling that withdrawal volumes surpassed deposits. Over the same period, exchange inflows altered by only 0.04%, rising to 231.187 billion SHIB—an insignificant shift compared to net withdrawals. Furthermore, the value of these reserves in US dollars dropped by 1.67% to approximately $403.49 million.

This decline in dollar value outpaces the actual reduction in SHIB token balances, pointing more at recent weak price action than dramatic shifts in token holdings.

Network activity and technical outlook

Despite recent price stalling, Shiba Inu’s network has shown faint but persistent signs of engagement. Overall transaction counts edged up 0.85% to about 4,540, and the number of active addresses grew by 0.83%. The average transaction count also rose in step with these gains, hinting that while the token’s price remains soft, capital flow and participant activity have not dropped off in parallel.

However, the price chart remains a concern. After failing to recover in late July at the $0.0000050 level, SHIB now trades near $0.00000461. Immediate resistance is evident around $0.00000497 and $0.00000588, while the short-term moving average is currently positioned at $0.00000464 and is under pressure.

Persistent negative netflows and falling reserves may ease immediate selling pressure, but with 87.5 trillion SHIB still held on exchanges, no strong bullish momentum has emerged as the price continues to lag below key resistance levels.

Current position and outlook

At present, the combination of large reserves and moderate net withdrawals creates a new baseline for SHIB’s exchange activity, rather than providing a clear signal of upward price action. While declining reserves and negative netflows could potentially reduce immediate supply-side pressure, a convincing recovery would likely require the token to decisively reclaim the $0.0000050 mark.

Shiba Inu, originally launched as a decentralized meme token, maintains a broad investor following but continues to fluctuate beneath critical moving averages. The latest data suggests a pause in accumulation, rather than a sustained supply drought or rally trigger.
