What to Know
- SHIB futures net flow surged 3,402%, but actual capital entering derivatives remained small relative to Shiba Inu’s market capitalization overall.
- Longer-term futures flows turned negative by $1.44 million, while spot activity showed limited evidence of substantial investor accumulation across SHIB.
- SHIB remained below key resistance levels, while modest open interest and neutral RSI readings weakened expectations for immediate breakout momentum.
Shiba Inu futures net flow surged 3,402%, although the underlying capital movement was far smaller than the percentage suggests. The increase resulted mainly from comparison against a very low previous net-flow figure. SHIB futures recorded roughly $662,280 in inflows during one hour, compared with approximately $393,610 in outflows. Consequently, the difference produced a positive net flow of about $268,670.
However, that amount represents only around 0.010% of Shiba Inu‘s market capitalization. The percentage increase therefore gives an exaggerated impression of the actual capital entering SHIB derivatives. Net flow represents the difference between futures inflows and outflows within a selected period. When those figures nearly balance, the resulting net value becomes relatively small.
Even a modest capital increase can then generate a four-digit percentage change from that lower comparison point. Hence, the 3,402% reading does not mean SHIB attracted 34 times more substantial investment.

Longer-term derivatives figures provide a different picture from the eye-catching hourly percentage increase. Over eight hours, SHIB futures recorded approximately $142,120 in positive net flow. However, the 12-hour futures reading moved into negative territory by roughly $1.44 million. Inflows reached $5.81 million, while approximately $7.25 million left SHIB futures during the same period.
Additionally, spot market flows offered little evidence of a major capital rotation toward Shiba Inu. One-hour spot net inflows reached approximately $129,780. Meanwhile, the 12-hour spot figure remained negative by around $18,050. Derivatives open interest also stood near $29.5 million, indicating relatively limited futures exposure.
Bullish long-to-short ratios among Binance’s top traders showed some optimism within derivatives positioning. Nevertheless, that positioning has not produced sufficient demand to reverse SHIB’s broader weakness. Shiba Inu traded around $0.00000454, with the token down approximately 3.6% over 24 hours. It also remained nearly 9% lower across the seven-day period.
From a technical perspective, resistance near $0.00000495 remains an important barrier. SHIB also trades below its longer-term average around $0.00000586. Meanwhile, shorter moving averages sit between approximately $0.00000445 and $0.00000462. An RSI reading near 54 suggests neutral to moderately bullish momentum rather than breakout conditions.

Overall, SHIB’s 3,402% futures net-flow increase reflects a dramatic percentage change from a small comparison base. Broader capital flows and price action do not yet indicate a major shift in market structure.
