Shibariumscan showed sharp declines in transactions, addresses, and blocks after a recent indexing disruption.
The decline appears linked to indexing problems rather than lost Shibarium blockchain data.
Shibariumscan remains partially indexed, with metrics expected to recover as synchronization continues.
Shiba Inu holders faced confusion after Shibariumscan showed a sudden metric collapse. The explorer appeared to lose more than one billion recorded transactions. Addresses and blocks also dropped sharply across the displayed statistics. Such figures naturally raised questions about Shibarium's network health. However, the blockchain itself does not appear to have lost data. The sharp declines instead point toward an ongoing explorer indexing problem. Shibariumscan continues rebuilding historical data following a recent service disruption.

Shibariumscan Shows Dramatic Metric Declines
Shibariumscan reported 1.56 billion transactions on August 10, 2026. The explorer also showed around 269.93 million addresses across the network. Shibarium had processed those transactions since launching in August 2023. The explorer also recorded roughly 18.47 million blocks during that period. Those figures changed sharply after Shibariumscan experienced an outage. The explorer later showed only 475.39 million transactions.
That figure represents a 69.55% decline from the previous count. Total addresses also fell to roughly 71.3 million. Meanwhile, the reported block count dropped toward 7.91 million. The sudden changes alarmed several members of the Shiba Inu community. Some users questioned whether Shibarium had suffered a major technical failure. Others wondered whether historical blockchain data had disappeared. However, current evidence points toward a different explanation. The problem appears connected to Shibariumscan's indexing process.
Longtime community member Mazrael provided additional details through an X update. He said Shibariumscan had returned online and resumed indexing. The explorer had moved behind Cloudflare during the restoration process. That change also triggered a DNS configuration update. The setup shifted from direct Hetzner hosting toward Cloudflare proxying. The restored website initially appeared without the original Shibarium branding. That appearance suggested that restoration work remained underway. Mazrael also linked an August 11 registrar change to the recovery effort.
Shibariumscan Continues Rebuilding Historical Data
Shibariumscan has not finished processing the network's historical blockchain data. Current information places the explorer at roughly 42% indexed. That leaves a significant amount of historical information still waiting for processing. As indexing progresses, displayed network statistics should gradually increase.
The transaction total should eventually approach the previous 1.56 billion figure. Address and block totals should also move toward earlier reported levels. However, nobody can confirm when the indexing process will reach completion. For now, the lower figures should not automatically signal declining Shibarium activity. The explorer's incomplete database provides a more likely explanation.
Shiba Inu users should therefore avoid interpreting temporary metrics as permanent losses. The incident highlights the difference between blockchain data and explorer data. A blockchain can retain historical records while an explorer rebuilds index information. Until indexing reaches 100%, Shibariumscan's cumulative statistics may remain incomplete.
