Silver bulls hoping for another rapid move higher may need considerably more patience.
Technical analyst Patrick Karim has shared a long-term monthly silver chart that remains bullish on the eventual destination but far less aggressive on timing. His central message is simple: the silver price can still move substantially higher, but the path may involve a lengthy consolidation first.
Karim estimates that silver could take roughly another two years to establish a monthly move above the $94-$95 region.
“Being bullish on the destination doesn’t mean the journey will be quick,” he wrote.
Karim’s monthly logarithmic chart places approximately $94.06 as the next large structural barrier.
Silver has already gone through a dramatic cycle, running from much lower levels into a 2026 peak before entering a deep correction. His chart compares the current structure with the period following the 2011 silver rally, when an initial collapse was followed by years of weaker price action.
The comparison is not presented as an exact repeat. Instead, Karim appears to be focusing on the type of market psychology that can follow a large speculative advance.

There is also a rising long-term support line underneath the current structure. Karim explicitly notes that this support “must hold,” with the long-term outlook deteriorating if silver loses it.

Silver Could First Spend Years Building a Base
The most interesting part of the chart is the two projected paths.
The emotional scenario, as Karim describes it, would be a rapid move through $95 followed almost immediately by a rally toward roughly $158.
He considers a slower sequence more realistic.
His preferred roadmap shows silver eventually challenging $94-$95, then spending more time consolidating around and below that area before a larger move develops. The timeline on the chart stretches toward August 2028.
That does not make $158 a formal price target. Karim’s arrows illustrate potential paths, and the chart itself asks which route is more probable.
At current levels around the upper-$50s, a move to $94 would still represent roughly 65% upside. Reaching the marked $158 region would be nearly 180% higher.
But those percentages miss Karim’s main point.
His analysis is less about how high silver could eventually trade and more about how long traders may have to wait.
The bullish thesis can remain intact even if silver spends 2027 and part of 2028 consolidating. In Karim’s framework, patience may be just as important as the final target.
