What to Know

  • Securitize has launched tokenized U.S. stocks on Solana, allowing eligible investors to trade shares of major publicly listed companies.
  • Each tokenized stock carries shareholder entitlements, including applicable dividends and voting rights, with underlying shares backing tokens one-to-one directly.
  • Securitize plans to expand tokenized stock trading through proposed NYSE and OKXICE venues, subject to regulatory and operational requirements.

Solana has strengthened its position in traditional finance as Securitize launched blockchain-based trading for shares of major American companies. The platform enables eligible investors to trade tokenized equities, with transactions settling through USDC on Solana.

According to Thursday’s announcement, Securitize Stocks initially supports 12 publicly traded companies through its registered broker-dealer platform. Its selection includes Apple, Microsoft, Nvidia, Tesla, Circle, Strategy, Palantir, and SPCX. Investors across the United States, European Union, and other supported jurisdictions can access the service, subject to eligibility requirements.

Securitize Offers Shareholder Rights Through Solana-Based Tokenized Equities

Securitize designed its tokenized equities to provide ownership-related benefits rather than simply tracking movements in traditional stock prices. Each token represents a security entitlement under Article 8 of the Uniform Commercial Code.

Significantly, the company backs every tokenized entitlement with underlying shares at a one-to-one ratio, preserving corresponding economic benefits. Eligible investors can receive dividends and exercise voting rights where applicable, reflecting benefits associated with traditional stock ownership. Additionally, Securitize maintains that it does not lend the underlying shares supporting its tokenized equity products.

Its convertible entitlement token structure allows investors to convert eligible holdings into directly registered shares when issuers support tokenization. Meanwhile, USDC facilitates transaction settlement through Solana, connecting conventional securities trading with blockchain infrastructure.

Securitize Targets NYSE and OKXICE Trading Venues

Securitize plans to expand its tokenized stock offerings through trading infrastructure associated with established financial institutions. Its roadmap includes the New York Stock Exchange’s proposed round-the-clock digital securities trading venue. However, participation remains subject to regulatory approvals and operational requirements before the proposed integration becomes available.

The company also expects potential access through the proposed OKXICE Tokenized Securities Venue, involving OKX and Intercontinental Exchange. ICE operates the New York Stock Exchange, connecting the initiative with established securities market infrastructure. Initially, Securitize will support extended trading hours while developing infrastructure for continuous market access.

Conclusion

Securitize’s launch expands Solana’s institutional applications by bringing tokenized American equities onto its blockchain network. The planned trading integrations could broaden access once the necessary regulatory and operational requirements are satisfied.
