Doug Anmuth, an analyst at JPMorgan, reaffirmed his Overweight stance on SpaceX while maintaining a $240 price objective. This projection suggests potential gains of roughly 78% from present trading levels.

Anmuth emphasized the rapid evolution of Grok’s capabilities. The recently launched Grok 4.6 achieved a five-point advancement on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index versus its predecessor Grok 4.5, remarkably accomplishing this within just one month.

Based on Anmuth’s analysis, Grok currently ranks behind only Anthropic’s Claude Fable 5 and Claude Opus 5 in performance metrics. The analyst anticipates Grok 5’s December release will represent a substantial leap in both scale and functionality.

SpaceX’s immediate-term AI revenue stream primarily originates from premium computational services. However, JPMorgan forecasts that enhanced Grok monetization, particularly within enterprise segments, will increasingly contribute to revenue growth.

Cursor Deal Strengthens Position

The acquisition of Cursor by SpaceX reached completion on August 14. This addition brings approximately $4 billion in recurring annual revenue, with business clients representing about 75% of that total.

JPMorgan characterizes this transaction as strategically significant for SpaceX’s enterprise AI ambitions. Cursor’s data has already been integrated into supplemental training protocols for Grok, yielding observable enhancements in model capabilities.

This acquisition additionally provides SpaceX with enhanced commercial opportunities as the company expands its enterprise AI footprint.

While SpaceX has not achieved profitability over the past twelve months, analyst projections indicate the company will turn profitable during the current year.

Orbital Computing and Advanced Processors

CEO Elon Musk shared Nvidia’s announcement regarding its Vera Rubin GPU technology, noting that SpaceX contributed to engineering a space-compatible variant. This specialized chip version is scheduled for orbital deployment in 2027, with expanded implementation projected for 2028.

Vera Rubin represents Nvidia’s newest AI processor architecture, delivering enhanced computational speed and superior token processing compared to the Blackwell generation.

The space environment presents unique challenges for semiconductor technology, including elevated radiation exposure and distinct thermal management requirements. Nvidia is engineering specialized hardware specifically designed to enable SpaceX’s planned network of orbital AI computing platforms.

Musk’s strategy centers on leveraging solar power for these satellites, potentially creating a cost advantage compared to terrestrial data facilities dependent on traditional electrical grids.

This vision depends on Starship rocket readiness. The vehicle remains in its testing phase, with the fourteenth test flight scheduled for September.

Since its June public offering, SpaceX stock has fluctuated between a peak of $225 and a low of $105.

At publication time, the S&P 500 had advanced 0.3% while the Dow Jones showed a 0.1% gain.
