The equity closed the previous session at $158.96. Across the most recent five-day trading period, SPCX has appreciated more than 15%.

Morgan Stanley reaffirmed its bullish stance this week. Analysts at the firm established a $300 price objective and characterized the stock as undervalued when measured against growth-adjusted fundamentals.

Wall Street’s overall assessment stands at “Moderate Buy” with a consensus price target of $218.68. The rating breakdown includes three Strong Buy recommendations, twenty-seven Buy calls, seven Hold positions, and seven Sell ratings.

However, not all research firms share this optimism. Susquehanna moved the stock to Underperform last August. HSBC initiated coverage with a Hold stance and a $115 price objective.

What’s Fueling Investor Interest

Several converging developments are contributing to the momentum rather than a single catalyst. SpaceX rebranded its artificial intelligence unit from SpaceXAI to SpaceXSI, reflecting the Trump administration’s initiative to reframe AI as “super intelligence.”

Elon Musk has also acknowledged discussions with TSMC (TSM) regarding a specialized semiconductor manufacturing facility. The initiative, dubbed Terafab, would allegedly include participation from Intel (INTC) and Tesla (TSLA) as well.

Bernstein projects SpaceX’s artificial intelligence revenue could expand nearly 500% in the coming year. Industry reports indicate Microsoft has engaged in preliminary conversations with SpaceX about renting AI computational infrastructure, though no formal agreement has been reached.

On the launch operations front, SpaceX executed three separate missions within roughly 13 hours this week. The organization is also working toward a second attempt at a U.S. Space Development Agency deployment following a weather-related postponement.

Starship development remains a focal point. After successful test campaigns in July and September, SpaceX is planning as many as two additional test missions this month—Flight 15 and Flight 16—though only one launch is anticipated within the next 25 days.

Musk’s Pentagon Assignment Draws Attention

Musk is resuming a position within the Trump Administration, designated to jointly oversee the Pentagon’s Project Meridian with Newt Gingrich and Palmer Luckey of Anduril. Considering SpaceX’s substantial reliance on government contracts, this development carries weight for equity holders monitoring the stock.

Analyst Ali Martinez connected the October price breakout directly to Musk’s defense sector engagement in a post on X. He highlighted both SPCX and Tesla attempting technical pattern completions during the same timeframe.

Martinez projects SPCX could appreciate an additional 5% to $180 if the upward trajectory persists. He also identified TSLA’s potential advance toward $450 contingent on first breaking through $400.

Still, not all indicators point upward. SpaceX’s current valuation continues to concern conservative analysts, who caution that substantial future expansion is already embedded in the share price.

There’s also a noteworthy insider transaction to consider. President and COO Gwynne Shotwell divested 342,170 shares on September 22 at an average execution price of $153.57, representing a transaction value exceeding $52.5 million.

The sale occurred through a predetermined Rule 10b5-1 trading arrangement and reduced her direct ownership position by approximately 12%. She maintains control of more than 2.4 million shares, currently valued around $379.6 million.

Regarding financial performance, SpaceX reported a quarterly loss of $0.09 per share in its most recent filing, outperforming the analyst consensus calling for a $0.26 loss. Quarterly revenue reached $7.81 billion, reflecting 92% year-over-year growth.

The company’s 50-day simple moving average stands at $139.62. SpaceX maintains a market capitalization of $2.26 trillion alongside a debt-to-equity ratio of 0.29.
