SpaceX Stock is trading lower in Friday's pre-market session, down 0.44% after a choppy month. The stock, run by Elon Musk's SpaceX, trades under the ticker SPCX and closed Thursday at $148.68.
Since its IPO, the SpaceX share price has swung between a 52-week low of $104.83 and a high of $225.64.
Analysts are split almost as wide as that range on where stock price prediction models point next.
One firm sees the stock nearly quintupling. Another sees it losing half its value. That gap shows how early and unsettled this story still is.

Who Is Elon Musk and What Is His Stake in SpaceX Stock?
Elon Musk remains SpaceX's largest shareholder, holding a stake reported near 42% of the company, roughly 6.4 billion shares. Unlike most other insiders, Musk's shares are locked up separately and are not scheduled to become tradable until mid-2027.
That matters for anyone tracking SpaceX stock news, since it means the single biggest holder cannot add to near-term selling pressure, even as other insider shares unlock in waves this year.
SpaceX Stock News: Why Are Analysts Split on SPCX?
Two calls this quarter sum up the split in SPCX price prediction coverage.
Raymond James analyst Brian Gesuale, a 5-star-rated analyst, launched coverage with an $800 price target. That is roughly 441% above current levels.
Phillip Securities analyst Glenn Thum, also 5-star-rated, took the opposite view. He kept a Sell rating and a $75 target last month, about 49% below where SPCX stock price sits today.
SpaceX Stock Price Prediction: The Bull Case
Raymond James built its bull case around three growth engines: the AI compute business, Starship, and Starlink.
The firm projects revenue climbing from $38.5 billion in 2026 to more than $837 billion by 2031. EBITDA, in this scenario, would jump from $17.7 billion to $696 billion over the same stretch.
Recent numbers back some of that view. Second-quarter revenue hit $7.8 billion, up 92% year over year. Backlog reached a record $47.5 billion, and compute capacity rose 40% quarter over quarter to 1.4 gigawatts.
Early third-quarter signals look strong too. Raymond James pointed to $6.7 billion in new signings, with compute capacity expected to top 2 gigawatts by year-end.
SPCX Price Prediction: The Bear Case
Phillip Securities is not convinced the growth is as solid as it looks.
Its main worry is contract quality. Cloud service deals can reportedly be canceled with just 90 days' notice once the initial ramp period ends. That is not the kind of locked-in revenue investors usually pay a premium for.
Customer concentration is another flag. One AI customer made up 19.5% of second-quarter revenue, up from under 10% a year earlier.
Spending is the bigger issue though. Capital expenditure hit $18.4 billion in the second quarter, which the firm pegs at 2.4 times quarterly revenue.
The traditional space segment is not helping either. It posted a $542 million operating loss last quarter. Phillip wants to see AI compute deals turn into longer-term contracts before giving that revenue more credit.
When Is the Next SpaceX Stock Unlock?
The SpaceX stock unlock schedule is one of the bigger overhangs on the SpaceX share price right now.
Unlike a normal single-day lock-up expiry, SpaceX used a staggered release plan after its June IPO. Tranches of roughly 300 to 900 million shares have already become eligible for sale in monthly waves since August, with further releases reported for October 9 and October 24.
A larger SpaceX share unlock, potentially up to around 1.3 billion shares, is expected two trading days after third-quarter earnings, which the company currently estimates for around November 3.
So far, each unlock has not triggered the heavy sell-off some traders expected, since many employees and early investors appear to be holding rather than cashing out.
Still, a rising tradable float is a factor worth watching for anyone following SPCX price prediction.
SPCX News: What's Driving the Stock This Week?
The biggest SPCX news this week has nothing to do with earnings or price targets. It is Starship.
SpaceX confirmed on September 25 that launch rehearsals were complete ahead of Starship Flight 14, according to the company's own update. This mission is being treated as a milestone test, targeting Starship's first full orbital flight after 13 earlier suborbital test flights.
Flight 14 is expected to carry a batch of next-generation Starlink V3 satellites, making it the first Starship flight designed to carry a live, revenue-generating payload rather than just test cargo.
A clean flight could support the bull case for Starship lowering launch costs, while a setback could add near-term pressure to the SPCX share price.
SPCX Stock Price Prediction: What Do the Technical Charts Show?
On the 4-hour chart, SPCX stock is consolidating in the 148 to 150 zone after climbing back from its $104.83 low.
Price is holding above the medium- and longer-term EMAs near $146.79 and $145.61, which keeps the short-term trend intact. But it is still sitting just under the faster EMA at $149.84, so upside momentum has not fully confirmed yet.
The level to watch is $150.98, the 0.382 Fibonacci retracement. A 4-hour close above that, held with support from the EMA cluster below, would strengthen the case for a move toward $165.24, the 0.5 Fib level. A rising trendline also points to a possible grind toward the 158 to 160 area first.
On the downside, rejection near 149.84 to 150.98 could keep price range-bound a while longer. A break below the 146.79 to 145.61 EMA support would open the door to 140, and then $133.34, the 0.236 Fib level.
This is a technical read of price action, EMAs, and Fibonacci levels. It is not a guarantee of where SPCX stock price goes next.

For now, SPCX looks stuck between a strong long-term growth story and real near-term questions about spending, contract terms, and the pace of the SpaceX share unlock. Traders watching the 4-hour chart have a clean line in the sand at $150.98, while long-term investors have to weigh a roughly 450% bull case against a roughly 50% bear case.
