Investor appetite for spot Dogecoin ($DOGE) exchange-traded funds remains weak. The products recorded net outflows of about $538,000 over the past week, and they hold only around 0.1% of DOGE's current supply despite being close to a year old.
Largest weekly outflow since August
According to data from SosoValue, investors pulled approximately $538,000 from Dogecoin ETFs, the largest weekly outflow recorded since August. That compares with mid-August, when the funds posted outflows exceeding $564,000.
The funds have struggled to attract clear inflows amid a broader decline in the cryptocurrency market, with weekly net inflows scarce in recent months. The weak flows came as the token itself slid. Dogecoin traded around $0.07553 on Oct. 24 and fell 5.62 percent over 24 hours.
Analysts caution against reading too much into a single week. A single week's outflow data does not necessarily signal a lasting deterioration in institutional demand. Even so, the pattern of thin flows points to cautious positioning in the memecoin sector.
Small funds, limited scale
The asset base of the U.S. products remains modest. The three funds hold less than $15M in assets, despite launching nearly a year ago, according to a market update citing fund data. Individual products are small too. Grayscale's Dogecoin Trust ETF (GDOG) reported $11,416,550 in assets under management and about 140.16 million DOGE in the trust as of Oct. 20.
Other issuers have struggled for traction. The 21Shares Dogecoin ETF launched on Jan. 22, 2026, and had $2,532,279.34 in assets under management as of Sept. 10.Bitwise decided in September to sunset its Dogecoin ETF (BWOW) less than a year after launch, citing sub-scale institutional demand.
The funds are designed to give investors price exposure without handling the token directly. GDOG allows investors to gain exposure to DOGE in investment accounts while avoiding the challenges of buying, storing, and safekeeping the token. So far, that convenience has not translated into significant demand.
