Trading activity on @RobinhoodCrypto's blockchain is telling two different stories. Perpetual futures are gaining momentum, while spot volumes are retreating, a split that points to a shift in how traders are using the network.
Perps Volume Pushes Higher
Perpetuals volume on Robinhood Chain hit $4.6B over the past week, up nearly 30% from the week prior, according to DefiLlama data. The last 24 hours alone contributed $637M to that total. DefiLlama's live dashboard confirms a weekly perps volume change of roughly +30% on the chain. The growth in derivatives activity reflects a broader trend. Daily perpetuals volume was just $13.5M in late July, making the current pace a significant step up in a short window. Lighter, which added perpetual futures to Robinhood Wallet, has been a key driver of that growth.
Spot DEX Volume Pulls Back, TVL Holds Firm
Spot DEX volume moved in the opposite direction, falling 12% to $9.28B for the week. DefiLlama data shows a weekly DEX volume change of approximately -12.89%, with 24-hour spot volume sitting around $846M. Despite the spot slowdown, the network's DeFi TVL remains steady near $1.01B. Native TVL on the chain stands at roughly $1.053B, with bridged TVL reaching $3.18B.
The chain's broader trajectory remains notable. After entering public testing in February 2026, Robinhood Chain launched its Arbitrum-powered mainnet on July 1.From that launch through September 2026, the chain reported $34.6B of total DEX volume, 576M transactions, and 12.3M addresses, with Lighter routing another $7.29B of perpetual volume.
The divergence between rising perps and falling spot volume suggests traders may be rotating toward leveraged, directional bets rather than straightforward swaps. Whether spot activity recovers or derivatives continue to dominate the mix will be a key indicator of how Robinhood Chain's user base is maturing.
