Samsung Wallet Wants to Integrate Stablecoins at the Heart of Its Ecosystem
Samsung presented the next evolution of its Wallet application. The company aims to transform this service into a platform capable of centralizing all the useful elements for everyday life. In this logic, stablecoins will be part of the new forms of digital value accessible directly from the application. This direction is part of an effort to expand the wallet’s functionalities beyond traditional means of payment.
During Galaxy Unpacked, Lee Dinham, product manager at Samsung, explained that Wallet would no longer be limited to cash or savings:
In the future, Samsung Wallet will go beyond cash and savings. It will integrate new forms of digital value, notably stablecoins. This integration will make Samsung one of the first major mobile phone brands to integrate native stablecoins into a smartphone, allowing fast and reliable digital value transfers.

According to him, the application will gradually integrate stablecoins to offer fast and reliable digital value transfers. A mock-up revealed during the presentation notably displayed Circle’s USDC. However, the company has not confirmed any official partnership with USDC or USDT, which currently dominate this market segment.
The executive also indicated that this evolution will make Samsung one of the first major smartphone brands to integrate stablecoins natively in a mobile device. The stated goal is to simplify the use of digital assets while integrating them into a unique daily experience.

Alongside this announcement, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Card, its first credit card. This card will notably allow for 5% cashback on certain purchases made in brand stores, as well as several complementary advantages. This new feature adds to the functionalities already offered by Wallet to create a more complete financial environment.
Mr. Dinham specified that Wallet will become the center of a connected ecosystem between Galaxy devices and services. Payments, rewards, and stablecoins will thus coexist in a single interface designed to simplify the user experience.
Thanks to these new integrations, Samsung Wallet becomes the pillar of a connected financial ecosystem across Galaxy devices and services, bringing together payments, rewards, and digital assets within a unified experience.

This approach illustrates Samsung’s desire to bring traditional financial services and digital assets closer together in the same environment.
This announcement is also part of a strategy engaged for several years. As early as 2019, the group integrated a secure cryptocurrency wallet into the Galaxy S10. More recently, it added Coinbase One to Samsung Wallet in the United States to facilitate access to cryptocurrencies. With the announced arrival of stablecoins, the application thus continues its evolution towards a more complete financial platform, whose next steps will now depend on the deployment timeline communicated by the company.
Stablecoins Confirm Their Domination in Digital Payments
Samsung’s announcement comes as stablecoins experience unprecedented growth in digital payments. In 2026, their capitalization exceeds $315.3 billion, a historic level confirming their place in the global financial ecosystem. According to Artemis data, these assets record on average more than $194.5 billion in daily transfers, with 63.4 million transactions and over 4.5 million active addresses each day.
This expansion is largely based on two players. DeFiLlama data show that Tether’s USDT remains the market leader with a capitalization close to $184 billion, or nearly 59% of all stablecoins. Circle’s USDC holds the second place with about $75 billion, representing nearly 24% of the market. Together, these two tokens concentrate more than 82% of the global stablecoin capitalization, confirming their domination in payments and value transfers on blockchain.
This evolution confirms that stablecoins now go beyond trading to progressively establish themselves in payments, international transfers, and settlements between companies. By integrating this technology into Wallet, Samsung supports a transformation already underway within the crypto ecosystem. Stable digital currencies thus occupy a growing place in daily uses, as their adoption progresses among businesses as well as consumers.
