Stand With Crypto, a Coinbase-funded advocacy group, has formally endorsed 32 current members of Congress ahead of November’s midterm elections. Each of these lawmakers voted in favor of the CLARITY Act during its passage through the House last year, a bill regarded by the cryptocurrency industry as its top legislative goal.
CLARITY Act Endorsements
The group’s endorsement is centered on a single, pivotal vote: support for the CLARITY Act. All 32 incumbents who received backing from Stand With Crypto aligned with the legislation during its successful run in the House of Representatives in 2023.
The CLARITY Act is designed to provide long-sought legal certainty for digital asset firms operating in the United States. Industry leaders contend that such clarity is essential for long-term growth and stability.
Despite momentum in the House, the bill encountered resistance in the Senate over the summer. Lawmakers on both sides raised concerns that have stalled further progress, leaving passage uncertain as the current Congress nears its conclusion.
Stand With Crypto believes this congressional gridlock is a critical juncture and seeks to reward lawmakers who have already supported the bill. By tying its endorsements to this vote, the group hopes to ensure these House members are present for future legislative debates.
Lynaugh, executive director of Stand With Crypto, emphasized the group’s strategy: in 2024, the movement aimed to prove the impact of crypto-focused voters. Looking ahead to 2026, the organization seeks to demonstrate it has the organizational capacity and an engaged voting bloc ready to influence Congress.
Grassroots Growth and Political Mobilization
Coinbase launched Stand With Crypto in 2023 as a grassroots advocacy initiative supporting the digital asset industry. In May 2024, the group started an affiliated political action committee and spent the past year building its presence across state primaries.
In March, Stand With Crypto debuted a “voter hub” to grade lawmakers on their positions regarding digital assets. This platform debuted with six initial endorsements, awarding high marks to Reps. Zach Nunn, Susie Lee, Mike Lawler, Don Davis, Greg Landsman, and Rob Bresnahan.
The organization stated its aim to make the 120th Congress the most pro-crypto in the nation’s history. Stand With Crypto claims to have mobilized 2.7 million advocates, referencing survey data from February 2024 that included responses from 1,000 crypto owners. The data indicated that 59% of crypto owners and 77% of self-identified crypto voters do not consistently align with a single political party.
Other political action committees have entered the scene as well. In May, the Blockchain Leadership Fund, backed by Anchorage Digital and Chainlink, issued its own endorsements for 2026, reflecting a broader shift toward bipartisan support for crypto-related initiatives.
This surge in digital asset advocacy corresponds with a larger trend in financial markets. While traditional platforms depend on complex brokers, Wall Street is witnessing a transition to Web3. Investors increasingly turn to decentralized platforms like 1stepSwap, which allow them to hold tokenized shares of major US companies, gold, and silver directly in their crypto wallets. Through tokenization of Real-World Assets and rapid price matching, these platforms eliminate the need for traditional intermediaries.
Stand With Crypto’s endorsement process transforms support for key legislation like the CLARITY Act into a direct referendum, aiming to influence the next Congress’s approach to digital asset regulation.
