This week saw strong momentum across several major cryptocurrencies, with Stellar (XLM) accelerating its price gains as it followed in the footsteps of XRP’s earlier surge. Stellar closed the week with a 22.33% increase, ending at $0.19111, while XRP posted a 40.94% rally, reaching $1.3988, according to TradingView data.

XRP and Stellar: Diverging catalysts

XRP’s impressive growth came on the heels of official developments for its parent company, Ripple. Brad Garlinghouse, CEO of Ripple, participated in a White House meeting regarding the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act—a move seen as a key driver of investor confidence in XRP’s future.

In contrast, Stellar’s rally has been fuelled by its strong position in the rapidly expanding real-world asset (RWA) tokenization sector. Recent figures reveal that more than $3 billion in RWAs are now issued on the Stellar network, making Stellar a global leader in tokenized non-U.S. sovereign debt.

Franklin Templeton and Ondo, both prominent financial firms, have partnered with Stellar to issue nearly $490 million in tokenized debt. The most significant upcoming catalyst is the integration of Stellar with the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC), which manages $114 trillion in assets. This collaboration aims to bring Russell 1000 securities and ETFs onto the Stellar blockchain during the first half of 2027.

Mini dictionary: DTCC (Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation): A US-based post-trade financial services company responsible for the clearing and settlement of the majority of securities transactions—overseeing assets valued in the trillions of dollars. Its potential partnership with blockchain networks marks an important step toward bridging traditional and digital finance.

Technical fundamentals and developer activity

Supporting Stellar’s upward trajectory, the network recently reported a record 2,968 monthly active developers. In addition, Stellar is preparing to implement Protocol 28, known as Adapter, which is expected to raise the network’s transaction capacity by 65%, increasing throughput to 3,351 transactions per second (TPS).

Ripple’s ecosystem developments have also helped solidify XRP’s momentum. Ripple Prime recently secured $275 million through institutional bond issuance. Meanwhile, XRP’s RLUSD stablecoin received regulatory approval in Japan and authorization under the European MiCA framework. Amendments known as XLS-65 and XLS-66 are now being prepared by XRPL validators to introduce native lending pools in collaboration with Clearpool.

Stellar’s price outlook and next milestones

From a technical perspective, XLM has begun its reversal from a recent low of $0.15232, while XRP already appears overbought. Unlike XRP, XLM is still testing its moving averages in the $0.191–$0.194 range, giving it a potential path toward its next resistance levels.

Two core scenarios now define Stellar’s trajectory. If XLM can achieve a weekly close above the $0.217 to $0.230 resistance zone, this could open the way for further gains toward the $0.26 and $0.30 levels. If momentum falters and the price fails to break past $0.195, a pullback toward $0.177 and possibly $0.152 remains possible.

Despite lagging behind XRP’s weekly performance, Stellar’s lead in RWA tokenization and substantial technical upgrades give it strong potential for continued growth.

The mid-September vote on Protocol 28 and further policy news from Washington regarding the Clarity Act are expected to play crucial roles in determining the network’s future direction.
