Stellar (XLM) recorded its lowest average transaction fee in a week on October 11, coinciding with the highest level of network activity seen during that period, according to data from blockchain analytics provider Chainspect.
Record Low Fees as Activity Peaks
The average transaction fee on Stellar dropped to just $0.00012 on October 11, a level so minimal it is nearly negligible compared to standard fee structures in other blockchain networks. Chainspect emphasized the efficiency in a report on X, noting that this fee is a fraction of a cent, underlining the platform’s capacity to process high transaction volumes at a minimal cost.
Stellar achieved these low fees as network usage surged. The blockchain processed nearly 12 million transactions that day, reaching an average of 139.15 transactions per second (TPS), making it the busiest day of the week. The notable performance demonstrates the network’s scalability during periods of increased demand.
Stellar’s fee fell to just $0.00012 during a day in which the network processed 12 million transactions, amounting to 139.15 TPS at peak activity, reflecting efficient scaling and cost management, Chainspect reported.
Unlike the typical slowdowns observed during weekends, Stellar maintained significant throughput throughout the day, illustrating the strength of recent network upgrades.
Adapter Upgrade Drives Efficiency
A key factor supporting this performance has been the implementation of the Protocol 28 ‘Adapter’ upgrade. This upgrade, rolled out earlier, introduced CAP-83, a technical improvement enabling validators to begin voting before receiving the full transaction set, and to explicitly drop transaction sets that arrive late or are deemed invalid. This change reduces stalling and allows consensus to advance even if data transmission experiences delays.
By facilitating ongoing consensus under high load and reducing dependence on perfect data propagation, the Adapter upgrade has helped maintain the network’s high throughput while retaining its low-cost structure. This supports Stellar’s goal of operating smoothly at scale, especially as network utilization grows.
Stellar’s Expanding Real World Asset Activity
Alongside technical improvements, Stellar’s role in tokenized real world assets (RWA) continues to grow. Since January 2025, the value of RWAs on the Stellar network has increased elevenfold, jumping from $300 million to $3.54 billion. Institutional participation from projects such as Franklin Templeton’s BENJI and WisdomTree Funds has contributed to this surge. So far in 2026, Stellar leads tokenized fund growth with over $2.7 billion on-chain.
This rapid increase in asset tokenization highlights Stellar’s efforts to bridge traditional finance and blockchain infrastructure, with the network proving itself as a leading platform in this segment.
As investors follow these developments, technical signals often play a vital role in identifying new opportunities, particularly given the rapid movements in markets with high volume and low transaction fees. This dynamic is especially evident in the meme token market, where viral internet trends can trigger millions of dollars in trades within days. Data from Fomo App highlighted a case in which a $99 investment in the “Niu Lai” token ballooned to nearly $370,000, illustrating the importance of monitoring both price movements and investor behavior. Fomo App’s platform offers real-time investor ranking, token discovery, social insights, and trade notifications, allowing users to track meme token trends and activity efficiently.
