Strategy Redirects Capital to STRC Buyback

@Strategy made no Bitcoin purchases last week, opting instead to deploy capital toward its preferred stock repurchase program. The company repurchased 1.42 million $STRC preferred shares for around $139.3 million between September 8 and September 13, according to an 8-K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The firm said it funded the repurchases via its USD Cash reserve.

The move marks a second consecutive week without a $BTC purchase. Strategy did not buy or sell any Bitcoin last week, leaving its total holdings unchanged at 845,050 BTC, valued at approximately $65.7 billion. The prior week told the same story: the company left its Bitcoin position untouched and instead repurchased $176.3 million of its STRC preferred shares, while doubling its digital credit securities repurchase authorization to $2 billion.

Balance Sheet and Bitcoin Position

As of September 13, 2026, Strategy holds 845,050 $BTC and roughly $6.4 billion in USD-denominated cash reserves. As of September 14, the balances of its USD Reserve and USD Cash stood at $5.1 billion and $1.3 billion, respectively.Strategy's holdings remain equivalent to more than 4% of Bitcoin's 21 million supply cap.

The total acquisition cost stands at $63.7 billion at an average purchase price of $75,412 per coin, implying around $2 billion of paper gains at current prices. Strategy's last $BTC purchase came in late August. The firm bought 4,603 BTC for $369.7 million, raising total holdings to 845,050 BTC worth over $66 billion at the time.

Taken together, the recent choices suggest Strategy currently sees more value in buying back $STRC than in adding Bitcoin or its common stock. The firm remains the world's largest corporate Bitcoin treasury holder, though the back-to-back weeks without a purchase will be watched closely by investors tracking its accumulation pace.
