Stripe-owned wallet infrastructure firm Privy is adding support for the XRP Ledger (XRPL), following a partnership with @Ripple. The integration lets app developers offer XRPL wallets that hold and send $XRP, $RLUSD and other assets on the network. Privy (@privy_io) announced the move on October 13.

Users are meant to keep control of their funds. Developers can create wallets and manage transactions within their applications, while users retain the ability to export their private keys and recovery phrases. That means a wallet created inside one app can be taken to others.

What developers get

Developers will be able to add XRPL wallets to their apps without building the wallet infrastructure themselves. The integration will support wallet creation, management and transaction signing for XRP, RLUSD and other XRP Ledger assets. Privy said fintechs could also offer embedded wallets for stablecoin payments without requiring users to manage their keys.

Markus Infanger, senior vice president of RippleX, said Privy brings proven wallet infrastructure that makes it easier for fintechs and developers to bring XRPL into real products, from payments and stablecoin services to agentic commerce.

AI agent payments and what comes next

Privy is also targeting payments made by AI agents. Developers can create XRPL wallets that are managed by apps, and AI agents can use them to hold funds and make payments. The wallets will also support x402 payments, which let software and AI agents pay for online services.

More features are planned. Privy said it plans to expand the integration over time by adding policy controls and gas sponsorship, which would let developers set rules for transactions and cover network fees for users. In practice, that would allow apps to set spending rules on wallets used by agents and pay fees on behalf of users.

The deal fits Stripe's wider push into crypto. Stripe acquired Privy for an undisclosed amount in June 2025, and Privy said it would continue to operate as an independent product within the Stripe ecosystem. At the time of the acquisition, Privy said it powered over 75 million accounts across more than 1,000 developer teams.

For XRPL, the tie-up gives developers a ready-made wallet layer as the network courts stablecoin payments and automated, agent-driven commerce. Details on timing for policy controls and gas sponsorship have not been published.
