@SuiNetwork has officially confirmed that its mainnet is experiencing a network stall, with transactions currently paused as engineers work to identify and resolve a block production failure. The core development team acknowledged the outage and said it is actively investigating the root cause.
Transactions Halted Across the Network
During the outage, no new blocks are being produced and no transactions are being confirmed on-chain. Decentralized applications built on Sui are affected, with users unable to execute trades or transfers until the issue is resolved. On Sui, an outage of this kind means the blockchain is effectively "stuck" as no new transactions can be confirmed and the network state remains frozen until validators resolve the underlying issue and resume consensus.
The Sui Core team is actively working on a solution, and users have been warned that dApps such as Slush or SuiScan may not be available, with transactions slow or temporarily unable to process.
A Recurring Reliability Issue
This is not the first time Sui has faced a disruption of this kind. The January 2026 outage was the second major outage and third significant network degradation in Sui's history, following incidents in November 2024 and December 2025.
The January incident was caused by what the team described as a consensus outage, a technical issue that prevented the blockchain from confirming transactions.A post-mortem identified the root cause as an internal divergence in validator consensus processing triggered by an edge-case bug in the consensus commit logic. Notably, no funds were lost and no rollback was required, as the network's safety mechanism worked as designed.
That January outage was the second major one Sui has faced since launching its mainnet in May 2023. The latest stall raises renewed questions about uptime reliability on high-throughput layer-1 networks as Sui continues to grow its ecosystem and user base.
No timeline for resolution has been provided. Further updates are expected from the team as the investigation progresses.
