Hashi Mainnet Goes Live With $500M in Backing
@SuiNetwork has announced a phased mainnet rollout for Hashi, its native Bitcoin finance infrastructure, set to begin this month. The launch comes backed by more than $500 million in capital commitments from a coalition of more than 20 institutional partners. The announcement was made at Sui Basecamp 2026 in Singapore.
Hashi is designed to keep $BTC on the Bitcoin network while issuing corresponding $hBTC tokens on Sui. Users will be able to use $hBTC in lending, credit, yield vaults, and structured products before burning the tokens to release the underlying BTC.The protocol's proposed applications include lending and borrowing, credit markets, automated vaults, and structured products, all focused on using Bitcoin in financial applications while preserving its position on the Bitcoin network.
The committed capital will enter Hashi markets through vault providers including Aftermath, Concrete, and Fluid, with the rollout expected to expand by the end of October as partners complete their integrations.
Anchorage Digital Brings Institutional Access
Anchorage Digital, home to America's first federally chartered crypto bank, becomes the newest day-one launch partner, giving its institutional clients seamless access to Hashi and bringing additional stablecoin liquidity to the network.
Hashi is intended to let holders use Bitcoin as collateral in Sui applications while the underlying asset remains on the Bitcoin network, with one access route positioned for organizations subject to qualified custody, compliance, and operational requirements, including public companies with Bitcoin on their balance sheets and digital asset treasury companies that cannot directly use DeFi.
The second route uses Porto, Anchorage Digital's institutional self-custody wallet. Sui said Porto users can access lending, yield, and real-world asset strategies directly, with the stated audience including venture funds, hedge funds, miners, market makers, and liquidity providers.
The broader coalition also includes Cumberland, SwissBorg, BitGo, Blockdaemon, and Ledger, covering custody, liquidity, and lending across the Bitcoin finance space.
