Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company delivered impressive June revenue figures on Monday, recording a substantial 67.9% year-over-year climb to NT$442.68 billion. The announcement came on Monday rather than the typical Friday release due to operational disruptions from Typhoon Bavi.
Shares of TSMC advanced 1% following the announcement.

The performance exceeded market projections, with second quarter total revenue landing at NT$1.270 trillion ($39.63 billion), marking a 36% year-over-year jump. This outcome surpassed the company’s previously issued upper guidance of $40.2 billion.
Throughout the initial half of 2026, TSMC’s cumulative revenue climbed to NT$2.4 trillion ($74.99 billion), reflecting a 35.6% gain compared to the corresponding period in the prior year.
Sravan Kundojjala, an industry analyst at SemiAnalysis, characterized the figures as “quite robust.” He emphasized that June typically experiences sequential monthly declines based on historical trends from the previous four years — making this performance particularly noteworthy.
“The demand supply situation in AI is still quite tight and TSMC is sold out on N3, which is targeted by all leading AI GPU and CPUs this year,” Kundojjala said.
AI Chip Revenue Expected to Reach $40 Billion
According to Kundojjala’s projections, TSMC appears positioned to exceed $40 billion in AI chip-related revenue throughout 2026, potentially representing approximately 25% of overall revenue.
TSMC commands a dominant 73% stake in the worldwide pure-foundry market as of the first quarter of 2026, based on data from Counterpoint Research. Major customers include Nvidia, Apple, and AMD.
The impressive June performance comes just ahead of TSMC’s second-quarter earnings release, scheduled for Thursday, July 16. In addition to the reported figures, industry observers will be particularly focused on management’s forward guidance for upcoming quarters. TSMC is commonly regarded as a key indicator for the semiconductor manufacturing sector overall.
Capacity Expansion in Southern Taiwan
Regarding infrastructure developments, TSMC is moving forward with plans to establish two advanced chip packaging facilities at the Chiayi Science Park in southern Taiwan, as reported by Reuters. Taiwan’s National Science and Technology Council Minister Wu Cheng-wen verified that the initial facility has commenced mass production, with the second plant anticipated to begin operations in the near term.
On a month-over-month basis, June revenue also increased 6.2% compared to May — another metric that attracted analyst interest given the historical seasonal pattern of June weakness.
TSMC is scheduled to announce complete Q2 earnings results on July 16.
