Aptos has closed out the unlock schedule for its core contributors and investors, four years after its mainnet launch. The two groups held about 325M $APT, roughly a third of the 1B starting supply.
The milestone applies only to those two allocations. TokenPost reported that the schedule was completed on Oct. 12, 2026, matching the distribution plan announced at mainnet launch, with no remaining tokens awaiting release under those allocations.
With the insider schedule finished, only the Community and Aptos Foundation pools remain. Together they release 4.54 million APT a month, down from 11.31 million, according to Blockchain Reporter. That is a drop of roughly 60%, a reduction the Aptos Foundation had flagged in advance in its tokenomics update.
The end of insider vesting comes alongside wider supply changes. TokenPost reports that the Foundation plans to permanently lock and stake 210 million APT, lower the annual staking reward rate from 5.19% to 2.6% and cap maximum supply at 2.1 billion APT.
Whether the lower scheduled issuance affects the $APT price will depend on demand and network adoption, as KuCoin's analysis notes.
