Founder-Linked Wallet Breaks Seven Years of Silence
A wallet associated with the founder of @quantnetwork has sprung back to life after seven years of dormancy, sparking fresh attention across crypto markets. According to on-chain monitoring by Lookonchain, the wallet (address 0x48E9) transferred 25,776 $QNT, worth approximately $6.97 million, to multiple newly created wallets on September 30.
The transferred tokens were sent to new addresses rather than directly to an exchange, so the movement does not establish an intention to sell. The transfer represents roughly 4.3% of the wallet's remaining $QNT balance by token count, indicating a partial redistribution rather than a full exit.
The wallet had been inactive for seven years and still holds 600,000 $QNT, valued at approximately $160.39 million. That makes it one of the largest single-wallet positions in the token.
Context: A Surging Token and a High-Profile Project
The wallet activity comes during a notable period for $QNT. The Clearing House chose Quant's software on September 24 for a US tokenized-deposit network due in the first half of 2027.The same day, UK Finance said banks in its tokenized-deposit project had made their first live customer payments on a platform Quant built. Those announcements helped drive a sharp price rally in the days leading up to the wallet movement.
Quant Network is a software project focused on building connections between distributed ledger networks, providing organizations and governments with the infrastructure needed to connect their products with multiple blockchains. The network was founded by Gilbert Verdian in 2015 and raised over $11 million during an initial coin offering in April 2018.
The timing of the wallet's reactivation has drawn scrutiny, given that the transfer precedes a potential network upgrade and occurs amid speculation regarding new token listings on major exchanges. However, no official statement has been made by Quant Network or its founder regarding the purpose of the transfer.
The activity adds another layer to Quant's current market structure, as the token is now dealing with strong institutional demand narratives alongside increased movements from large and previously inactive holders.
