NYSE Arca Greenlights Grayscale's Zcash ETF

NYSE Arca has formally certified its approval for the listing of The Zcash ETF, according to filings on SEC EDGAR dated August 24. The certification confirms NYSE Arca's approval for listing and registration of The Zcash ETF Shares, a series converted from the Grayscale Zcash Trust (ZEC). The fund is expected to begin exchange trading as soon as Tuesday, August 25, under the ticker ZCSH.

@Grayscale Investments Sponsors announced that shares are expected to begin trading on NYSE Arca around August 25, 2026, under the ticker "ZCSH," pending required regulatory approvals. If it goes live as planned, the product would be the first US spot ETF offering exposure to a privacy-focused digital asset.

From OTC Trust to Exchange-Traded Fund

The move marks a significant structural shift for the product. Grayscale filed Amendment No. 5 to its Form S-3 registration statement with the SEC, refining details for converting its longstanding Grayscale Zcash Trust into a continuously offered ETF.The existing product, launched in 2017, holds substantial ZEC with assets under management exceeding $260 million in recent reports.

The conversion moves @Zcash exposure from over-the-counter quotes to continuous exchange trading. Coinbase Custody Trust Company serves as custodian, with Coinbase, Inc. acting as prime broker, and The Bank of New York Mellon serving as transfer agent and administrator. The fund carries a 2.5% annual fee.

The trust's objective is for the value of its shares to track the price of the underlying ZEC, measured against the CoinDesk Zcash Benchmark Rate.$ZEC eased to around $820 as the approval landed, though the token remains roughly 58% higher on the week and close to eight-year highs.
