Ripple Swell 2026 could offer a better idea of how XRP and the XRP Ledger could be used in institutional finance, as major banks, asset managers, trading firms, and payment companies prepare to attend the event.

Crypto commentator X Finance Bull believes the combination of these institutions signals that Ripple is pursuing opportunities beyond conventional payment services.

In an X post, X Finance Bull highlighted the companies expected at Swell, scheduled for October 27–29 in New York. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse will also be in attendance alongside other industry leaders. The commentator believes their joint participation could create opportunities to advance existing relationships and expand the use of XRP and the XRP Ledger across financial markets.

Banks, Custody Providers, and Trading Firms Take Center Stage

X Finance Bull identified several institutions that could play important roles in Ripple’s institutional strategy. BNY could help institutions manage asset custody, banking transactions, and collateral while providing access to financial markets. Mastercard could help expand payment settlement opportunities through its existing work involving RLUSD and the XRP Ledger.

The commentator also pointed to Aviva Investors and ZILO as important participants in the asset-management sector. Aviva Investors provides a potential route for tokenizing traditional investment funds on the XRP Ledger, while ZILO offers transfer-agency infrastructure for regulated investment products.

CME, Canary Capital, and Grayscale represent another part of the institutional landscape. CME already offers XRP derivatives, while Canary Capital and Grayscale give investors ways to gain exposure to XRP through investment products.

The commentator also highlighted AWS, Mastercard, and Stripe in connection with AI-driven payments, noting that the XRP Ledger supports x402 payment activity involving XRP and RLUSD.

Existing Relationships Could Lead to Further Developments

Rather than treating Swell as an opportunity for Ripple to establish entirely new relationships, X Finance Bull emphasized that several connections already exist.

BNY already participates in the RLUSD ecosystem, Mastercard has explored settlement involving the XRP Ledger, and Aviva Investors has an existing relationship with Ripple. CME’s XRP derivatives and the XRP investment products offered by Canary Capital and Grayscale also demonstrate that regulated financial products already form part of the market.

X Finance Bull further cited SBI’s longstanding relationship with Ripple, RLUSD’s launch in Japan, and a regulated securities workflow involving BTG Pactual fund shares that moved onto the XRP Ledger through CSD BR. The commentator also referenced Ripple Prime’s expansion involving Brevan Howard.

These developments underpin the commentator’s bullish outlook. X Finance Bull believes Swell could advance institutional custody toward settlement, encourage the use of tokenized funds as collateral, and support lending and secondary-market liquidity. The event could also create opportunities for banks to move existing initiatives into production and for AI payments to generate additional XRP Ledger activity.

Swell Could Offer Clues About Ripple’s Next Priorities

X Finance Bull’s central point is that institutional adoption requires more than investors purchasing XRP. It also depends on custody, settlement systems, regulated investment products, liquidity, and the infrastructure that financial institutions need to operate at scale.

The commentator expects Swell 2026 to provide further insight into how Ripple plans to develop these areas. However, attendance alone does not confirm that new agreements or product launches will follow.

With Garlinghouse and representatives from major financial institutions expected in New York from October 27 to 29, XRP holders will have an opportunity to assess whether Ripple announces developments that advance the asset’s role in institutional markets.
