Stellar has spent much of 2026 moving sideways after giving back part of its earlier rally. That slow price action has left many investors wondering whether XLM has already reached its limit for this cycle or whether the next major move is simply taking longer to develop.

One analyst believes the answer could surprise the market. Celal Kucuker argues that Stellar has one of the strongest long-term chart structures among major cryptocurrencies, and he believes the XLM price could eventually climb to around $2.50 if that pattern finally breaks higher.

The Stellar price reached an early 2026 high of around $0.21 before entering a prolonged consolidation. XLM later traded mostly between $0.15 and $0.18 as broader market conditions became less favorable for altcoins.

Several factors contributed to the slowdown.

  • Global macroeconomic uncertainty reduced demand for mid-cap cryptocurrencies.
  • High Bitcoin dominance drew capital toward Bitcoin instead of altcoins.
  • Profit taking followed Stellar’s strong rally earlier in the year.

Those factors repeatedly pushed the XLM price away from key resistance levels. Stellar’s fundamentals, however, continued improving throughout that period.

The network expanded its real world asset ecosystem beyond $3 billion in tokenized assets. Institutional adoption remained one of the biggest drivers of activity on the blockchain even though the Stellar price failed to match that progress.

That difference is worth noting because blockchain adoption and price performance often move at different speeds. Strong network growth can continue for months before prices begin catching up.

A look at the Stellar chart also shows that XLM spent much of the consolidation close to the important $0.18 support area. Higher trading volume would likely be needed before buyers can challenge the next major resistance level.

Celal Kucuker Believes Stellar Is Building Toward a Major Breakout

Crypto analyst Celal Kucuker believes Stellar currently has one of the cleanest long term charts in the cryptocurrency market.

His outlook comes from the large technical pattern that has been developing for several years.

The attached monthly chart shows XLM trading inside a massive symmetrical triangle. Every major rally since 2018 has stopped near the same descending resistance line. Every major correction has also produced a higher low than the previous one, creating a rising support trendline underneath the price.

Those two trendlines have squeezed the Stellar price into an increasingly narrow range.

That type of structure often attracts technical analysts because it shows the market gradually compressing after several years of consolidation. The longer that compression continues, the more attention traders pay to the eventual breakout direction.

Another important feature appears on the chart through the Fibonacci extension levels. Those projections estimate possible price targets if Stellar eventually breaks above its long standing resistance.

One of the most notable Fibonacci targets appears near $2.56, which closely matches Kucuker’s expectation that the XLM price could eventually reach around $2.50.

The green projection drawn on the chart illustrates that scenario. XLM would first need to close above the upper resistance trendline that has rejected every major rally for years. A successful breakout could then open the path toward the next Fibonacci extension.

That would represent roughly a 15x increase from current prices.

The projection remains a technical scenario instead of a certainty. Stellar still needs to overcome one of its strongest resistance levels before that bullish outlook can begin unfolding.

Weekly Technical Indicators Show Stellar Remains in a Waiting Phase

Weekly indicators present a mixed picture for the XLM price. Most momentum indicators still lean slightly bearish, although one measure shows buyers have started defending important support levels.

The Relative Strength Index currently stands at 47.57. That reading shows buyers and sellers remain fairly balanced. Momentum has not become strong enough to confirm either a bullish or bearish trend.

The Stochastic Oscillator currently reads 32.89. That sell signal suggests short term buying pressure remains limited despite the recent consolidation.

The MACD currently stands at minus 0.013. That reading continues producing a sell signal and shows bearish momentum has not fully disappeared.

The Ultimate Oscillator currently reads 39.55. Values below 50 generally indicate buying pressure remains weaker than selling pressure across multiple time frames.

Bull Bear Power currently stands at 0.0066. This is the only indicator currently generating a buy signal. The positive reading suggests buyers have started defending support despite the broader consolidation.
