XRP is trading at $1.36, up 1.63% on the weekly chart. That modest figure sits far below where one analyst believes the asset is headed.
Crypto Captain (@UniverseTwenty) has shared a technical outlook projecting XRP to reach $22, though the path there includes significant volatility on both sides.
The Analyst’s Forecast
Crypto Captain stated, “huge volatility ahead before reaching 22$ per coin big up and down swings.” He is calling for new all time highs. The asset’s current all-time high, according to Ripple CTO Emeritus David Schwartz, is $3.65.
XRP hit that level in July 2025, and has failed to come close since then. A move to his $22 target would represent a gain of over 1,500% from current levels.
What the Chart Shows
The chart covers the weekly timeframe on Bitstamp from July 2025 when the asset hit its peak through a projected window approaching 2027.
Several Fibonacci extension levels appear as horizontal lines across the chart. The 1.618 level sits at approximately $8.15. The 1.272 level appears near $5. The 0.786 level sits around $3, and the 0.382 level falls near $1.75.
A descending trendline in yellow runs from mid-2025 through late 2026, connecting a series of lower highs. XRP experienced an extended consolidation beneath this resistance but the breakout in late August pushed it over the barrier.
Volatile Swings On the Horizon
XRP is now retesting the top of that trendline. If it holds and turns to support, it could launch the asset toward the targets outlined. The projected price action, shown in white, begins near the 2027 window. It starts with a move above $2 before a slight retracement. This move would establish support near $2 before the climb continues.
It shows a sharp initial spike to approximately $8.15, which aligns with the 1.618 Fibonacci extension level. That move is followed by a sharp pullback toward $2 again. If that support holds one more time, XRP would move rapidly toward $10.50, drop to $8.15 again, then start the final push toward $22.
What to Watch
The yellow descending trendline is the dominant structure on the chart. It capped the price for over a year. Now that XRP has broken above it, the next move is a rapid climb above $2. While the analyst expects rapid swings, his chart suggests an ultimate target of $22, far above current levels.
