Team Collects Millions as Token Rallies
The team behind the Official Trump ($TRUMP) memecoin on Solana (contract: 6p6xgHyF7AeE6TZkSmFsko444wqoP15icUSqi2jfGiPN) sold tokens and collected 3.39 million USDC over an 11-hour window, according to blockchain analytics platform Lookonchain. The activity comes on the back of a sharp price recovery, with the token surging roughly 80% over the past week.
Separate Lookonchain data showed that 646,000 TRUMP tokens were moved to the OKX exchange in two transactions. According to Lookonchain, the deposit was worth approximately $15.5 million at current prices, and transfers to exchanges are widely interpreted by traders as a potential sell signal.
A Pattern That Repeats With Every Rebound
The latest activity fits a recurring pattern. Reports of team selling have surfaced repeatedly following price rebounds in TRUMP. The token's most recent rally pushed it above $3, triggering over $30 million in short liquidations, with rumors of a new Trump family crypto asset helping fuel the move.
The token's tokenomics leave it structurally exposed to insider supply. 80% of TRUMP's total supply sits with Trump-linked insiders, with vesting schedules running into 2028, meaning team wallets retain significant capacity to sell into rallies. TRUMP and the associated MELANIA were advertised as rug-pull-proof, requiring staggered sales over three years rather than allowing a single lump-sum exit.
For holders, the cycle raises a familiar concern: each recovery invites fresh supply from team wallets, capping upside and keeping sentiment fragile. On-chain monitoring remains one of the few tools retail participants have to track these movements in real time.
