Trust Wallet Phishing Attack: What the DarkSword Exploit Reveals

A Trust Wallet Phishing Attack is worrying iPhone owners after a post claimed users lost about $1.1 million. The claim surfaced on November 5, 2026, and Trust Wallet has not confirmed the total. The post says an unknown attacker pulled seed phrases from phones running iOS 18.5.

This crypto wallet hack may be small in victim count, but the damage is permanent.

Trust Wallet Theft: How Much Users Lost and What Victims Reported

Reports so far are limited but specific:

  • Claimed total: about $1.1 million, from a social post and still unverified

  • Victim one: $3,830 in USDT, gone with no approval prompt

  • Victim two:about $68,000 in USDT (late October case)

  • Devices:iPhones, often on older iOS versions

Trust Wallet Theft

A screenshot by @Crypto_Goku shows large USDT deposits of $500,000, $100,000 and $190,000 reaching Binance hot wallets. Nothing proves those funds came from victims.

Still, the Trust Wallet Phishing Attack claim carries a hard lesson. Trust Wallet is self-custody, so once a seed phrase is stolen, no one can reverse the transfer.

How the DarkSword Exploit Works: Trust Wallet Risks on Old iPhones

Researchers link similar thefts to DarkSword and Coruna, two iOS exploit kits. A bad page opened in Safari can start the chain. It escapes the phone’s sandbox, scans for wallet apps and pulls out recovery phrases. A Censys report lists Trust Wallet, MetaMask, Phantom, Coinbase and Exodus as targets.

Apple has patched the flaws, with every fix in place by iOS 26.3. Phones that skipped updates remain the weak point. No source has proven that this case used the kit.

Trust Wallet Phishing Attack: The Fake .cam Site Targeting Wallets

A separate threat showed up the same day. Researcher Anurag found a fake Trust Wallet site that asks visitors to connect wallets to “review transfers.” Its code supports Trust Wallet, Phantom and OKX Wallet. It scans balances through an API and prepares transfers to fixed addresses. Signing is switched off for now, so no theft is tied to it.

Binance co-founder CZ referenced the scam in a short post, reminding users that .cam is not .com. The site shows how a Trust Wallet Phishing Attack can start with a single wrong letter.

  • Domain: trastwallet[.]cam

  • Scan endpoint: trastwallet[.]cam/api/wallet/scan

  • Script file:trastwallet[.]cam/wallet-integration.js

Trust Wallet Safety: Update iOS Steps to Protect Funds From Phishing

A Trust Wallet update alone is not enough, because the phone’s operating system matters most. Trust Wallet Phishing scams also feed on fear, so slow, careful checks help.

  • Update iOS: Settings → General → Software Update

  • Guard seed phrases:never keep them in Notes, Photos, screenshots or cloud backups

  • Check every URL:.cam is not .com

  • Install from official links only: use store links on the project’s real website

  • Review approvals: revoke unused token permissions

  • If exposed:create a new wallet on a clean, updated device, move funds and retire the old seed

  • Extra layer: consider a hardware wallet for larger holdings

Official support never asks for a seed phrase.

The next facts will settle the story. A Trust Wallet statement with confirmed totals, on-chain tracing and a takedown of the fake domain would show whether this Trust Wallet Phishing Attack is isolated or part of a wider campaign.

Until then, updated phones and strict seed habits are the best defense.
