Korean Exchange Listings Spark Double-Digit Rallies
Two tokens tied to emerging DeFi protocols posted sharp gains on August 4 after major South Korean exchanges confirmed new listings. DeFi App's $HOME token surged 34% and MetaDAO's $META climbed 24% on the back of the announcements, bringing their weekly advances to 54% and 56% respectively.
Upbit (@Official_Upbit) will support HOME trading against KRW and USDT, giving the Base-network token (base:0x4bfaa776991e85e5f8b1255461cbbd216cfc714f) access to one of Asia's most liquid retail venues. Upbit is the largest cryptocurrency exchange in South Korea by trading volume and customer base, with over 180 coins and more than 300 trading pairs listed.
Bithumb (@BithumbOfficial) will list META2, the ticker representing the Solana-based MetaDAO protocol (solana:METAwkXcqyXKy1AtsSgJ8JiUHwGCafnZL38n3vYmeta). The token is listed under the symbol META2 to avoid confusion with the separately traded Metadium. The move follows a string of recent exchange additions for MetaDAO. Coinbase listed MetaDAO in May 2026, alongside Derive, with trading beginning on May 27.
DeFi App (@defiapp) is a cross-chain DeFi platform spanning EVM and Solana ecosystems. The platform simplifies DeFi trading while maintaining full self-custody of assets, enabling instant, gas-free, one-click cross-chain swaps, decentralized derivatives trading, and yield opportunities without the need for bridges or KYC checks. HOME serves as the platform's governance and utility token, used to pay gas fees and unlock select features.
MetaDAO (@MetaDAOProject) is a Solana-based governance protocol built around the Futarchy model, a system in which prediction markets, rather than traditional voting, guide decision-making. MetaDAO's Q1 2026 token holder report, published in May 2026, showed protocol revenue of $556,000 for the quarter, while the treasury grew 524% from Q4 2025 to reach $12.24 million.
The listings underscore sustained appetite for Korean won liquidity among DeFi-native tokens. MetaDAO topped the trading volume ranking on South Korean exchanges following its listing, with META recording a 24-hour trading volume of $65.84 million on Upbit alone, accounting for roughly 12.39% of the exchange's total spot volume.
