US President Donald Trump, known for his support of the cryptocurrency market, made noteworthy statements about the cryptocurrency market and Bitcoin.
Trump stated that the US must maintain its leadership in the cryptocurrency sector and should not be allowed to dominate it.
In an interview with Punchbowl News, a US media outlet, Trump touched upon the technology competition between the US and China, emphasizing that the cryptocurrency market is one of the key areas of this race.
In his statement, Trump said, “We don’t want China to take over crypto. I don’t want China to win in artificial intelligence either. We cannot allow China to overtake us in this area.” Trump also emphasized that the US is currently ahead of China in the field of artificial intelligence and that this advantage must be preserved.
“I’m seeing more payments being made with Bitcoin!”
Another notable detail in Trump’s statements regarding Bitcoin concerned the use of cryptocurrencies in daily payments.
At this point, Trump stated that crypto was a big deal, saying, “I’m seeing more people paying with Bitcoin; they don’t even know what cash is anymore.”
Trump also stated that Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies reduce pressure on the US dollar, and considered their increasing use a positive development for the country.
