In Brief:

  • Visa has launched commercial USDC prefunding through Inyo Global, allowing eligible businesses to fund international payouts beyond traditional banking hours.
  • Visa’s transition from its 2025 pilot programs enables stablecoin funding through existing payment infrastructure serving more than 180 countries.
  • Mastercard’s BVNK integration expands stablecoin payment services, while Visa plans additional partnerships to support wider adoption across international payment networks.

Visa has moved its USDC stablecoin funding service into commercial operations, selecting Inyo Global as its first integration partner. According to Visa’s October 15 announcement, the service allows eligible businesses to fund international payouts through Visa Direct using USDC.

The development gives payment companies another way to manage liquidity without depending entirely on conventional banking hours. Businesses can fund cross-border transactions in near real time, reducing delays associated with traditional funding schedules.

Inyo Global, a Visa Direct processor, has integrated the capability into its existing payment infrastructure. The company serves banks, fintech firms, money transmitters, and other businesses handling domestic and international transactions.

Through the integration, eligible clients can access USDC prefunding around the clock using Inyo’s existing application programming interfaces. This arrangement allows businesses to access the new funding service through their existing payment connections.

Additionally, Inyo’s platform supports customer onboarding, fraud prevention, compliance management, payment acceptance, and international transfers. Its connection with Visa Direct enables businesses to send payments across more than 180 countries.

Robson Dantas, Inyo Global’s chief product and technology officer, emphasized the benefits of integrating stablecoin funding into existing systems. Dantas explained that payment businesses can access the funding option through familiar APIs without changing their established payment processes.

Visa Expands Stablecoin Payments Beyond 2025 Pilot Programs

Visa introduced stablecoin prefunding and payout pilot programs in 2025 to examine blockchain technology’s role in international payments. These initiatives tested how digital assets could support liquidity management, payment funding, and cross-border money movement.

The commercial deployment marks a transition from controlled testing to operational use within Visa Direct’s payment infrastructure. Inyo Global becomes the first processor to offer the prefunding capability commercially to eligible businesses.

Meanwhile, Vira Platonova, global head of Visa Direct, described commercial adoption as the next stage of stablecoin development.

“The next chapter for stablecoins is adoption,” Platonova stated.

Mastercard Expands Stablecoin Payment Services Through BVNK Integration

Visa’s commercial expansion comes as Mastercard introduces similar infrastructure connecting stablecoins with traditional financial services. As reported by 36Crypto, Mastercard launched its Global Money Platform on October 15, integrating BVNK’s stablecoin infrastructure with conventional payment services.

The platform allows banks, fintech companies, and businesses to manage digital currencies and traditional funds through one system. Mastercard also identified Nuvei, Marqeta, Ontop, Bolt Group, and Almond FinTech among the initial integration partners.

Through a single API, businesses can access stablecoin payments, currency conversion, multicurrency accounts, and local bank transfers. Unlike Visa’s emphasis on stablecoin prefunding, Mastercard’s platform combines payment processing, currency management, and treasury services within one infrastructure.

Visa Targets Wider Stablecoin Adoption Across Global Payment Networks

Visa’s rollout forms part of its broader strategy to connect blockchain technology with established financial payment networks. By supporting USDC prefunding, Visa provides businesses with another option for managing international payment obligations.

The service remains subject to eligibility requirements rather than offering unrestricted access to every Visa Direct client. Meanwhile, Platonova is scheduled to discuss stablecoin applications during Money20/20 USA sessions next week. Visa also plans to work with additional partners on stablecoin-enabled payment services.

The Inyo Global integration establishes Visa Direct’s first commercial USDC prefunding implementation, expanding funding options for eligible cross-border payment businesses.
