Visa has partnered with Mesh to enable cryptocurrency payments across more than 175 million merchant locations worldwide through participating digital wallets. According to the partnership announcement, Mesh will handle payment conversion, allowing consumers to spend digital assets directly from their wallets across Visa’s merchant network.
Mesh and Visa Simplify Crypto Spending Without Separate Payment Cards
The integration will provide Visa payment credentials within participating wallet applications, supporting both online purchases and physical store transactions. Through this arrangement, Mesh will handle cryptocurrency conversion during payment processing, removing additional steps previously required for digital asset spending.

Mesh CEO and co-founder Bam Azizi identified the connection between crypto balances and merchant payments as a longstanding challenge. Azizi explained that previous solutions often required consumers to obtain separate cards before spending their cryptocurrency holdings at retail locations.
“Crypto never had a spending problem — it has a last-mile problem, and until now, closing it meant getting a separate card,” said Bam Azizi, CEO and Co-founder of Mesh.
The partnership addresses this limitation by linking wallet balances with Visa’s merchant network through payment credentials provisioned behind the scenes. Additionally, merchants can accept payments through existing systems without introducing separate cryptocurrency infrastructure or changing their checkout processes.
Visa Expands Digital Asset Payments Through Existing Crypto Partnerships
Visa has established several partnerships connecting cryptocurrency holdings with traditional payment systems, including arrangements involving WeFi and Bridge. In April, Visa and WeFi outlined plans allowing consumers to spend digital assets while retaining control through self-custody wallets.
Another agreement with Bridge enabled developers to issue Visa cards funded by stablecoin balances, with Bridge managing backend currency conversions. Meanwhile, Mesh previously supported PayPal’s Pay with Crypto launch, expanding its involvement in cryptocurrency payment infrastructure.
In August 2025, investments involving PayPal Ventures and Coinbase Ventures pushed Mesh’s total funding beyond $130 million. The company subsequently achieved unicorn status following a $75 million Series C funding round led by Dragonfly in January.
Visa’s partnership with Mesh extends these efforts by connecting existing cryptocurrency wallets with merchants without requiring dedicated payment cards.
