Coinbase Global (Nasdaq: COIN) has Wall Street analysts moving in different directions on where the stock is headed, with price targets ranging from $187 to $280.
Founded by Brian Armstrong and Fred Ehrsam in 2012, Coinbase is the leading cryptocurrency trading exchange in the United States.
The firm went public in 2021 and joined the S&P 500 index in May 2025. It became the first pure-play crypto company to be a part of the much-coveted index.

Letting users trade cryptocurrencies is just one function of Coinbase. It also lets them trade prediction markets and tokenized stocks and hold stablecoins.
In fact, stablecoins constitute a major part of the company's revenue stream. Coinbase distributes Circle Internet Group's (NYSE: CRCL) USDC stablecoin — a kind of digital dollar — to its users and generates revenue from the yields on the stablecoin's reserves, such as short-term U.S. Treasuries.
As the Federal Reserve raised the interest rates by 0.25% to the 3.75%-4.00% range last month, Bank of America recently raised its price target on the Coinbase stock from $174 to $203 and maintained a Buy rating.
The Wall Street bank expects the crypto company's stablecoin revenue to surge due to higher interest rates, prompting the price target hike.

Goldman Sachs raises Coinbase price target
On Oct. 7, Goldman Sachs raised its price target on the Coinbase stock while keeping a Buy rating.
The Wall Street giant said the crypto exchange could benefit from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) "innovation exemption."
Issued on Sep. 17, the order grants temporary, conditional exemptive relief to allow limited trading of tokenized stocks on Tokenized Securities Venues.
Goldman Sachs said Coinbase's stock's current price is “an attractive valuation entry point” for investors. The bank raised its price target from $219 to $244.

Compass Point follows suit
On Oct. 7, Compass Point also raised its price target on the Coinbase stock from $177 to $187 while maintaining a Neutral rating.
The analyst's Q3 2026 earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) forecast stands 14% above consensus estimates. Coinbase posted EBITDA of $699.55 million over the last twelve months while maintaining an impressive gross profit margin of 85.81%.
As per Compass Point, crypto is in its early phases of a recovery and retail trading and USDC supply historically recover late in the cycle.

Citizens trims Coinbase price target
However, not every analyst agrees that the Coinbase stock deserves a price target hike.
Citizens trimmed its price target on the Coinbase stock from $325 to $280 while maintaining an Outperform rating.
The analyst conceded that the crypto company already generates more than 40% of its revenue from avenues other than crypto trading. It posted $6.04 billion in revenue over the last twelve months, a 9% decline year-over-year (YoY). It has a strong gross profit margin of 86%, reflecting operational efficiency despite market headwinds.

At its Take Control event in June, Coinbase launched more than 20 products and updates, including options, tokenized equities, prediction markets, stablecoin payments, borrowing, crypto-backed mortgages, agentic commerce, and developer infrastructure.
Citizens said the opportunity lies in these products reinforcing one another. It expects more assets to support trading and borrowing, increased USDC activity to support payments, and more developer activity to generate settlement and transaction demand.
The analyst said its reduced price target on the Coinbase stock reflects the execution still required for the crypto company’s broader strategy beyond crypto trading.
Even though Citizens has trimmed its price target on the stock, it still reflects 50% upside.
The COIN stock closed at $179.39 on Oct. 9.
