CORE Hits Record Low Before Partial Bounce
@Coredao_Org's native token $CORE touched an all-time low on July 28, 2026, sliding to $0.01678. The token has since recovered slightly, posting a roughly 7% gain alongside a pickup in 24-hour trading volume, though it remains deeply depressed relative to its highs.
To put the longer-term decline in context, the token now sits more than 99.5% below its all-time high of $6.47, recorded in February 2023. The sell-off has been compounded by several episodes of forced selling. Earlier in 2026, a wave of large market sell orders triggered a liquidation cascade on Colend, placing significant downward pressure on CORE.According to CoreDAO's own report, the incident was primarily market-driven rather than caused by a technical failure.
Building Through the Downturn: SatPay and the 2026 Roadmap
Despite the price weakness, the @Coredao_Org team continues to develop its ecosystem. The central focus is Bitcoin DeFi, or BTCFi, and the protocol is positioning SatPay as its flagship consumer product in that space. Every deposit, LST mint, loan, repayment, and yield strategy executed through SatPay reinforces CORE demand, making it a consumer-scale entry point that drives CORE usage, staking, gas consumption, and recurring buyback pressure.
SatPay, the Bitcoin neobank built on CoreDAO, rolled out early beta access to select users in March 2026 following its redesigned website launch and initial invites in early February.CoreDAO is an EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain designed to combine Bitcoin security with scalable smart contract capabilities, using the Satoshi Plus consensus mechanism, which blends Bitcoin's Proof-of-Work security with Delegated Proof-of-Stake for faster transactions.
On the broader strategy, the central pillar of Core's 2026 plan is a pivot from inflation-funded emissions to a sustainable revenue model, channelling revenue generated from Bitcoin activity within its BTCFi ecosystem, including staking yields, liquid staking tokens, and SatPay, into systematic CORE token buybacks. This represents a strategic shift to use ecosystem revenue for systematic CORE token buybacks, moving away from inflationary rewards.
Whether that model can translate into meaningful price recovery remains an open question. For now, $CORE is attracting attention primarily because of how far it has fallen, not because of fresh momentum. Traders and ecosystem watchers will be looking closely at whether SatPay adoption and the buyback programme can begin to change that narrative.
