Gilbert Verdian (@gverdian) is not a typical crypto founder. Before launching @quantnetwork, he spent more than two decades working at the intersection of government, finance, and cybersecurity, accumulating a resume that stretches from Downing Street and HM Treasury to Mastercard and HSBC.

From Government Corridors to Blockchain Standards

Verdian brings more than 20 years of cybersecurity experience and C-level accountability as a CISO, CIO, and CTO, with roles spanning government departments including Downing Street, HM Treasury, and the Cabinet Office, as well as private sector firms such as Mastercard, Vocalink, and HSBC. His last role before founding Quant was as CISO at Vocalink, where he was responsible for the security of the UK's payment infrastructure for the Bank of England, covering BACS, Faster Payments, Link and Cheque, and Credit Schemes.

In 2015, Verdian established the Blockchain ISO Standard TC307 initiative and became the Convenor of the Interoperability working group WG7 for ISO.He also sits on committees at the Federal Reserve, the EU's Blockchain Observatory, PayUK's Cybersecurity board, and UK Government DLT committees. He founded @quantnetwork, the firm behind $QNT, in 2018.

Quant Lands a Landmark US Banking Deal

The Clearing House (@TCHtweets) has announced the selection of Quant to power its On-Chain Money Initiative, a new interoperable payments network that will enable financial institutions of all sizes to clear and settle tokenized deposit transactions. The Clearing House first unveiled the project in June 2026, backed by 25 of the largest financial institutions in the country, including Bank of America, Citi, J.P. Morgan, Wells Fargo, HSBC, BNY, PNC Bank, U.S. Bank, and Truist, among others.

Quant's technology will provide the network's interoperability, orchestration, and transaction-management layer, coordinating the clearing and settlement of tokenized deposit transactions while providing connectivity to existing fiat payment systems including the RTP and CHIPS networks. The initiative is designed to create new opportunities across corporate treasury, liquidity management, cross-border payments, and digital asset settlement.

The network is expected to become available to participating institutions in the first half of 2027. For Verdian, the deal is the clearest validation yet that his decade-long bet on blockchain interoperability, built on deep institutional credibility rather than speculation, is paying off in the places that matter most.
