A Top-100 Token Still Waiting for the Biggest Exchanges

@PiCoreTeam has built one of the largest communities in the crypto industry, and its native token $PI carries a market capitalisation that places it firmly inside the top 100 digital assets. At the time of writing, CoinMarketCap ranks PI at number 53, with a live market cap of roughly $1 billion. Yet despite that scale, a listing on the two most prominent exchanges in the world remains out of reach.

PI secured its first major US-regulated exchange listing on Kraken in March 2026, followed by OKX opening US access in May 2026. The token is also available on @Gate and @MEXC. But @Binance and @Coinbase, the two platforms that arguably matter most for mainstream credibility, have not moved.

Why Are Binance and Coinbase Holding Back?

Binance ran a community vote in February 2025 that produced what the exchange itself called overwhelming support, with 86.8 percent of voters in favour and around 226,000 votes cast. The exchange did not act on the vote at the time and has not made a public commitment since.

Binance has not listed PI despite strong community support, with concerns cited around code transparency, security audits, and decentralisation. Coinbase, for its part, has remained silent, with regulatory uncertainty around PI's legal status seen as a likely factor.

Exchanges generally prioritise security, compliance, and technical maturity over popularity metrics, and PI faces questions on several of those fronts. Binance typically requires a fully open and permissionless mainnet, clear tokenomics, real trading demand, and minimal regulatory uncertainty. Analysts have noted that PI still raises questions around how much of the supply is liquid and how open the ecosystem truly is.

There is also a supply overhang worth noting. Pi Network's current circulating supply stands at roughly 10.94 billion PI out of a maximum of 100 billion, with an annual supply inflation rate of around 61 percent. That kind of emission schedule gives large, cautious exchanges additional reason to pause before committing to a listing.

Pi Network found its first tier-1 listings in 2026, and the price kept falling anyway. With Kraken and OKX now on board, only Binance and Coinbase are holding out, and their silence has become the more analytically significant fact. Whether either platform eventually moves likely depends on @PiCoreTeam's ability to demonstrate stronger decentralisation, clearer tokenomics, and regulatory confidence in its key markets.
