The prediction, shared on X, is the latest in a series of bold calls Kim has made on Ripple's native token.
Kim, who claims an IQ of 276, has built a large social media following and regularly posts about Bitcoin and XRP. His $5 to $10 near-term target is relatively conservative compared to his prior calls. He has previously predicted that XRP could hit $100 by 2030 as ETF inflows and ecosystem growth build in the Ripple ecosystem. However, his track record on timing has been inconsistent. He predicted XRP would reach a new all-time high by late 2025, which did not happen, and projected Bitcoin would hit $300,000 in early 2026, a level it has not approached.
Kim's credibility as a forecaster has also drawn scrutiny. The United Sigma Intelligence Association, which Kim himself founded, publicly stated that it did not conduct psychometric evaluations or certify IQ scores, noting it is "not a testing or certification body."Independent experts, including members of the Triple Nine Society, have called the 276 number statistically implausible under standard testing norms.

CME Group is bringing its crypto futures trading into the always-on era, with 24/7 trading across its regulated crypto futures and options, including XRP and Micro XRP contracts, starting May 29 at 4:00 p.m. CT.The move eliminates the gap between traditional derivatives markets and the continuous operation of digital assets, allowing institutional traders to hedge and adjust positions during weekend volatility.
CME's XRP futures, launched in May 2025, have already seen significant institutional demand, with a cumulative trading volume of 1.32 million contracts representing $62.87 billion in notional value in the first year.Year-to-date average daily volume for CME crypto futures in 2026 stands at 407,200 contracts, a 46% increase year-on-year.
As always, Kim's calls come with the standard caveats: past predictions have missed by wide margins, and $XRP remains a volatile asset subject to broader market forces. Investors should conduct their own research before acting on any price forecast.
