XDC Network, an enterprise-focused Layer 1 blockchain, closed October 2026 with new institutional validators and wider retail access for its native token. Payments company @MoneyGram and Swiss digital assets infrastructure provider @Taurus_hq joined the network as validators, while $XDC became available through @RobinhoodCrypto and Japan's CoinTrade.
According to a press release published by crypto.news, MoneyGram joined XDC Network as an institutional validator, dated October 19, 2026. The company joins a validator set that already includes SBI Holdings, Deutsche Telekom, NTT DOCOMO Global, Clear Street, Hex Trust and Taurus, among other regulated institutions across Asia, the Middle East, Europe and North America.
Luke Tuttle, MoneyGram's Chief Product and Technology Officer, said the move means contributing directly to the infrastructure supporting the network. Yahoo Finance, in a report originally published by BeInCrypto, described MoneyGram as an 85-year-old remittance company serving around 60 million customers.
The validator role does not by itself bring MoneyGram's payment flows to XDC. BeInCrypto noted that MoneyGram's MGUSD stablecoin runs on Stellar, so the XDC role is about governance rather than customer flow for now.
Taurus joined as an institutional validator on October 7, according to a Genfinity review of XDC Network's October activity. Taurus co-founder Lamine Brahimi described the role as a contribution to network security and resilience.
On the consumer side, Crypto Briefing reported that Robinhood Crypto added XDC for eligible US customers on October 8, 2026, with some state restrictions applying. Genfinity reported that New York residents cannot trade the token on the platform. A press release distributed by Cointelegraph, commissioned by XDC, said the listing opens the token to 2.3 million users on the Robinhood platform.
Genfinity also reported that Japan's CoinTrade began offering XDC the same day. The exchange is operated by Mercury Co. and now lists 26 assets. CoinTrade also added XDC to its recurring purchase feature and plans to add staking soon, according to VOIX as cited by Genfinity.
Listings alone do not guarantee higher adoption or liquidity. Even so, the month's additions show XDC combining validator support from established financial firms with easier access for retail traders in the United States and Japan.
