The XLM price is getting a fresh boost in sentiment after U.S. Bank completed a live stablecoin transfer on the Stellar network. This wasn’t a small test from a startup. U.S. Bank, the fifth-largest commercial bank in the United States, used its USBDC stablecoin to move funds between North America and Europe through Stellar’s public blockchain.
The pilot included minting, redemption, freezing capabilities, clawbacks, and compliance controls that large financial institutions require. For Stellar supporters, this is the kind of real-world use case they’ve been waiting to see.
U.S. Bank Chose Stellar For a Reason
The biggest takeaway from the pilot isn’t simply that a transaction happened. It’s that a major bank selected Stellar’s public network to handle it. Scopuly noted that the U.S. Bank was able to move its stablecoin across borders without relying on a private blockchain.
At the same time, the bank maintained regulatory controls such as compliance monitoring, redemption management, and asset freezing capabilities. ALLINCRYPTO pointed to comments from the U.S. Bank leadership, which emphasized faster global cash management and cross-border money movement without sacrificing security and reliability.
Every transaction on Stellar requires XLM for fees, and every account on the network must hold a small amount of XLM. That means more institutional activity can translate into greater network usage over time.
The XLM price won’t jump simply because of one pilot program, but it does show that traditional financial institutions are becoming more comfortable using Stellar as settlement infrastructure.
Stellar’s Adoption Story Keeps Growing
The U.S. Bank development is part of a broader trend. MoneyGram’s Visa stablecoin card in Colombia runs on Stellar infrastructure and targets part of MoneyGram’s roughly $3 billion annual foreign-exchange business.
Stellar’s ecosystem has also expanded to around $3.3 billion in real-world assets. Network activity remains strong as well. Stellar processed more than 11.6 million transactions in a single day, showing that usage continues to grow beyond speculation alone.
Those figures matter because they give the XLM price something many crypto assets struggle to maintain: measurable utility. The more financial institutions, payment providers, and tokenized asset issuers use Stellar, the stronger the network’s activity base becomes.
September 15 Could Be the Next Big Catalyst
Beyond adoption, investors are also watching regulation. A key vote tied to the CLARITY Act is scheduled for September 15. The bill is designed to create clearer rules for digital assets in the United States, and XLM has previously been cited by regulators as an example of a digital commodity.
If lawmakers move the legislation forward, it could remove some of the uncertainty that has slowed institutional participation across the crypto market. If the vote disappoints, the XLM price could remain tied to broader market sentiment despite its improving fundamentals.

Can Stellar’s Utility Drive the Next Breakout?
The XLM price is sitting between strong fundamentals and market uncertainty. On one side, Stellar now supports roughly $3.3 billion in real-world assets, processed more than 11.6 million transactions in a single day, powers MoneyGram’s stablecoin initiatives, and has now been tested by U.S. Bank for cross-border settlement.
On the other side, traders remain cautious. The crypto Fear & Greed Index is at 68, placing the market in “Greed” territory, which has historically been followed by periods of volatility. For now, many traders are focused on the $0.195 resistance level. A move above that area would strengthen the bullish case and put higher targets into view.
Until then, the XLM price continues to benefit from growing institutional adoption, but the next major move will likely depend on whether buyers can turn that positive narrative into a confirmed breakout on the chart.
FAQs
How active is the Stellar network
Stellar processed more than 11.6 million transactions in a single day, indicating strong network usage and ongoing activity across its ecosystem.
Is Stellar competing with banks
Stellar’s goal is generally seen as providing infrastructure that banks and payment companies can use, not replacing them. The U.S. Bank pilot is one example of that model in action.
