Before the tide comes back in, the water has to pull away from the shore first. The beach looks bare for a while, and then the sea returns.
Crypto analyst Ali Martinez thinks XRP may be in that stage right now.
The digital currency, which anyone can buy and sell online at any hour, fell about 4.6% over 24 hours to roughly $1.30 on Oct. 15. Martinez says it could drain further, down to around $1.25, before buyers wash back in and lift the price toward $1.60.
In an X post on Oct. 15, the analyst, known as Ali Charts on X, said XRP is trading inside a parallel channel on the hourly chart. That structure, he said, points to a drop toward the lower boundary near $1.25.

$1.25 is the level to watch
Martinez said $1.25 is where he sees a potential buying opportunity. A bounce from there could give XRP the strength to climb to the channel's midpoint at $1.42, or even the top of the range at $1.60.
In a separate post, Martinez flagged several TD Sequential buy signals near current levels, including a Sequential 13, a TD 9 and an Aggressive 13. He said the signals suggest selling pressure may be running out. In that thread, he eyed a rebound toward $1.40, followed by resistance near $1.50.
Ripple CTO Emeritus David Schwartz said the technology banks need to adopt the XRP Ledger is largely in place, with regulation and integration the main barriers. He was speaking in a recent podcast titled Talking Tokens, hosted by Jacquelyn Melinek.
During the conversation, he said the bigger opportunity lies beyond converting real-world assets into digital tokens, as the technology could eventually reshape how people borrow, invest, make payments and access a wider range of financial services.

Martinez's earlier XRP call
The analyst has been vocal on XRP before. Last week, Martinez predicted that a bigger move could be approaching for XRP as it continues to consolidate inside a triangle.
He said that a 4-hour close above $1.53 could confirm a bullish breakout and open the door to $1.62.
If XRP ends a full four-hour stretch above $1.53, it's a sign buyers have real staying power. A brief spike can vanish in minutes, while a confirmed close carries far more weight.
The latest call is far more short-term. The hourly channel leaves room for further downside first, and the targets sit well below the $3.65 peak XRP hit in July 2025.
Traders will now watch whether XRP reaches that lower boundary and how buyers respond. As always, technical patterns do not guarantee outcomes, and a break below $1.25 would put the bullish setup at risk.
