XRP Ledger (XRPL), the decentralized blockchain network supporting the XRP cryptocurrency, has registered a sharp surge in activity, with several core network metrics rising dramatically alongside a recent price breakout for XRP.
Network Usage Metrics Surge
Recent data shows transactions per closed ledger on XRPL have soared by 150.2%, reaching an average of 176.33 transactions per ledger. This figure tracks the total processed activity per ledger cycle, revealing a substantial increase in network utilization beyond simple price movements.
Overall, successful transactions on the network climbed 111.8% to a total of 2.2 million. When including all transaction types, the increase amounts to a 78.9% rise, with 2.6 million transactions recorded in the most recent period.
The number of payments made on the network also rose, increasing 8.9% to roughly 605,400. User participation reflected this momentum. Active-user numbers grew 224% to approximately 483,600, while active accounts advanced by 27.7% to about 17,300. Additionally, new account creations reached around 2,600, a 28% jump compared to previous periods.
With transactions per ledger up 150%, and active users climbing over 220%, XRPL is experiencing one of its strongest periods of network growth to date. This pace suggests the latest price rally is supported by genuine network usage.
Given these statistics, observers say the spike in transaction-per-ledger appears to stem from broad-based growth rather than isolated technical causes.
Value Transfer and Decentralized Exchange Activity
Total value transferred on the XRPL is also rising sharply. XRP burned through transaction fees registered an 81.3% increase. Payment volume jumped 140.8% to around 739.8 million XRP. These gains indicate more capital is moving across the network as activity picks up.
Decentralized exchange (DEX) activity on XRPL has climbed as well. The number of OfferCancel operations grew by 150.8% to 222,300, while OfferCreate functions advanced 56.2% to about 965,700. This reflects a higher level of user engagement with the ledger’s built-in trading features.
Mini dictionary: OfferCreate/OfferCancel, XRPL’s decentralized exchange operations allow users to place or remove orders directly on the ledger without third-party intermediaries. OfferCreate initiates a new trade, while OfferCancel removes an existing order. These functions offer a trustless, on-chain trading experience.
This period of expansion aligns with significant price action for XRP. The token has surged, trading at approximately $1.48 after breaking through key resistance levels.
XRP Price Moves and Market Sentiment
XRP recently passed the long-term moving average of $1.35, driven by a sharp increase in trading volume. The daily relative strength index (RSI) now sits at 85.9, which signals the token is in overbought territory and indicates potential short-term risk of a correction or a cooling-off period.

Analysts suggest that, unlike previous speculative price surges, XRP’s current rally is correlated with higher network engagement and user activity. If transaction and active-user figures remain strong after the initial surge, the data could reinforce the argument that XRP’s move is underpinned by real usage as much as by trading sentiment.
