TLDR
Charles Schwab’s filing listed nearly $4.8 million in XRP ETF shares as collateral.
The collateral included Grayscale, Canary, and Franklin XRP-linked ETF products.
The filing does not confirm that Schwab directly purchased the XRP ETF shares.
Other investment firms have also reported growing exposure to XRP-linked exchange-traded products.
XRP remains about 60% below its record high despite increased institutional ETF activity.
A Charles Schwab filing has drawn attention to institutional use of XRP ETF products. The Sept. 8 Form N-MFP3 shows XRP-linked fund shares listed as collateral in the Schwab Prime Advantage Money Fund. The filing names XRP ETF positions with a combined value of nearly $4.8 million. The disclosure adds another example of XRP-linked products appearing in investment records.
Charles Schwab, XRP ETF Collateral Details
The Schwab Prime Advantage Money Fund reported $1.01 million in Grayscale XRP Trust ETF shares as collateral. It also listed $3.06 million in Canary XRP ETF shares and $702,000 in Franklin XRP ETF collateral.
The filing does not show that Charles Schwab directly purchased these XRP ETF shares. Form N-MFP3 reports can include securities posted as collateral, which means the assets may have entered the fund through financing or institutional arrangements.
Other investment firms have reported positions in XRP-linked funds. Clear Creek Financial Management disclosed 11,621 shares of the Bitwise XRP ETF for the quarter that ended June 30.
Leisure Capital Management reported 16,745 shares of the Franklin XRP ETF in its second-quarter Form 13F. Beacon Pointe Advisors and Brookstone Capital Management have also appeared in recent filings that include exposure to XRP-linked exchange-traded products.
Institutional Use Expands Across Filings
The positions remain small compared with the assets managed by large financial firms. Still, the number of filings shows that XRP ETF products are entering more investment accounts and collateral structures.
The Charles Schwab filing differs from a standard ownership disclosure because it lists XRP ETF shares as collateral. That distinction matters when reading the filing, since collateral does not automatically represent a direct investment by the money market fund.
Institutional activity around XRP ETF products has grown while the XRP token continues to trade well below its record high. The asset is down about 60% from its peak.
The contrast shows that ETF activity can continue even when the underlying token faces weaker market conditions. Filings provide a broader view of how firms are using XRP-linked products across institutional portfolios and collateral arrangements.
