U.S. spot XRP ETFs just recorded their strongest weekly inflow of 2026, even as XRP lost momentum.

The funds attracted $110.49 million in net inflows during the week ending Aug. 28, more than doubling the previous 2026 weekly high near $60.5 million. Cumulative inflows climbed to roughly $1.66 billion, while total net assets reached about $1.44 billion.

The latest week was a 2026 record, though still below the roughly $243.95 million all-time weekly high set in late 2025.

Coinpaper had already tracked the recovery in ETF flows, as cumulative demand pushed past $1.55 billion earlier in the week.

ETF Demand Is Rising, but XRP Is Falling

Despite stronger institutional buying, XRP traded near $1.38 on Aug. 29, down about 7% over seven days after giving back part of its August rally.

That pullback follows a much stronger move earlier in the month, when XRP surged more than 40% during a sharp price rally.

ETF activity has also remained elevated. Spot XRP products recently posted a $125 million single-day trading-volume record, another sign that institutional participation is expanding. The latest volume data showed growing activity across XRP-linked investment products.

Why the Divergence Matters

ETF inflows do not automatically translate into immediate price gains.

XRP is still influenced by spot selling, leverage, macro conditions and broader crypto sentiment. The token is now testing the $1.36–$1.40 area, with $1.45 acting as an important resistance level.

For now, the bigger signal is that institutional demand is strengthening even as price momentum cools. If XRP can reclaim $1.45, that divergence may begin to resolve. A break below $1.36, however, would keep the correction in control.
