Crypto analyst CW has shared new data revealing significant sell wall activity for XRP, indicating that major resistance levels lie ahead for the asset on both Binance and Coinbase.

Whale sell walls emerge on Binance and Coinbase

Order book charts posted by CW show that XRP is currently trading near the bottom of a broad range of large sell orders on both exchanges. The total trading volume reached 13.443 million, suggesting heightened activity as the asset hovers near key levels. These sell walls—clusters of large-limit sell orders placed by major holders, also known as whales—are positioned to absorb buy pressure, making it challenging for XRP to break higher without substantial demand.

According to the data, Binance whale sell walls are stacked up to approximately $15, while on Coinbase, the resistance levels extend as far as $31. These stacked orders represent a series of hurdles for any short- or medium-term rally in XRP.

Sell walls from Binance whales are visible up to $15, and Coinbase whales have positioned their sell orders up to $31, illustrating strong resistance across both platforms.

Mini dictionary: Sell wall, a large limit sell order (or a cluster of such orders) placed at a specific price in an exchange’s order book, designed to absorb buying pressure and slow upward price momentum.

Sell wall concentrations create layered resistance

On Binance, the chart highlights dense red bands that mark significant concentrations of limit sell orders from large holders. These bands begin only marginally above the current market price and continue up to $15, forming a series of intermediate resistance zones at various levels. CW’s analysis separates Binance’s sell walls from those on Coinbase based on their placement and volume profile on the chart.

Coinbase presents an even broader distribution of resistance, with whale sell walls starting at similar ranges but rising to $31. Although another analyst previously noted whale activity around $33 on Coinbase, current data shows the uppermost bands now top out at $31—still far above XRP’s present price. Collectively, these layers form a substantial barrier that will likely restrain rapid upward movement unless buying interest intensifies sharply.

Large buy activity remains close to current price

Alongside the stacked sell orders, the order book shows green circles around the $1.36 price, indicating active buy orders and notable trade volume at these levels. This cluster of buying activity demonstrates that while there is considerable interest in accumulating XRP near present prices, absorption of the extensive sell supply above represents a key challenge for bullish momentum in the near term.

The contrast between concentrated buy activity around $1.36 and the substantial sell walls above is central to recent market dynamics in XRP.

The presence of whale-dominated sell orders extending from current prices all the way up to $31 across Binance and Coinbase underscores how any sustained rally will need to overcome multiple layers of resistance. The pace at which buyers address this supply will likely dictate whether XRP’s ascent is steady or slow.
