XRP finally has an official account on X, more than a decade after the XRP Ledger went live.
The @XRP account published its first post on October 19 with a short message: “hello, world. It’s about time.” The post was accompanied by a brief XRP logo video and quickly attracted significant attention from the community.
The account is not a fan page. Its profile states that it is jointly managed by Ripple and the XRP Ledger Foundation, giving XRP a dedicated communication channel separate from Ripple’s corporate account.
Ripple Quickly Welcomed XRP to X
Ripple responded within minutes of the debut, referencing its more than decade-long history of building on the XRP Ledger alongside other contributors and welcoming @XRP to the platform.
The XRPL Foundation also joined the launch, calling it a “New era,” while Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse described the account’s arrival as something that had been “a long time coming.”
Interest accelerated quickly. Reports showed the account passing 100,000 followers within roughly 13 hours, while its launch content generated millions of views.
The timing has naturally generated speculation with Ripple Swell approaching, but there is no evidence that the account itself signals a new product, XRP distribution, protocol change or undisclosed announcement.
Its immediate significance is simpler: XRP now has an official public voice jointly managed by two of the organizations most closely associated with its ecosystem.
And after more than 14 years without one, the timing alone is enough to get the XRP community talking.
