XRP is trading at $1.13 today, July 23, 2026. That is 69 percent below its all-time high of $3.65 hit in January this year. Spot ETFs are live. The SEC lawsuit is settled.

The XRP Ledger just crossed 1 million agentic transactions. Whales scooped up 600 million coins in the five weeks to July 22, worth approximately $678 million at current prices.

And yet the price keeps drifting lower. Every XRP holder right now is asking the same question. This has happened before, not once, not twice, but four times. Here is what the data actually shows.

Four crashes, four recoveries

In 2018, XRP fell 96 percent from $3.84 to $0.11 as the ICO bubble burst and the broader crypto market collapsed. Every analyst declared it finished. It recovered to $1.96 by April 2021, a 1,681 percent move from the bottom.

Then in December 2020, the SEC filed its lawsuit against Ripple. XRP dropped 45 percent in a single day, from $0.70 to $0.17, as Coinbase, Binance US, and over a dozen exchanges delisted the token.

Ripple's own lawyers told the company it was "done" and "unsavable," as CTO David Schwartz shared about it in X posts.

The community refused to sell. When the partial legal victory arrived in 2023 and the SEC dropped its appeal in 2024, XRP surged to $3.65.

In 2022, XRP fell 79 percent from $1.96 to $0.30 as Terra Luna imploded and FTX collapsed. Ripple was still fighting the SEC. The market did not care. XRP held, then recovered.

Where it stands right now

The current drawdown is XRP's fourth major crash. From the $3.65 high, it is down 69 percent.

The CLARITY Act remains the single biggest near-term catalyst, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse has publicly urged Congress to pass it before the August recess. Senate Republicans released an updated bill text on July 22 with an ethics provision attached. Polymarket puts passage odds at 43 percent.

XRP ETFs have drawn over $200 million in net inflows in 2026 despite the price decline.

The XRPL Lending Protocol launched this month, bringing institutional-grade credit infrastructure to the ledger. Standard Chartered still holds an $8 price target for 2026 and $28 by 2030.

Four crashes. Four recoveries. Each time the asset looked finished, delisted, sued, abandoned. Each time it came back stronger than the version that preceded the crash.

The data does not promise a fifth recovery. But it has earned the right to be taken seriously.
