XRP recorded its most significant weekly advance in recent months, rallying 53% over a seven-day stretch to approach a seven-month high near $1.54. The surge placed the digital asset, which is the native token of the XRP Ledger created by Ripple Labs, back within a price range that has historically served as major resistance.
Resistance ahead as rally stalls near $1.55
As of August 24, data showed XRP trading at approximately $1.47, having traded between $1.46 and $1.54 during the day. Market analyst Ash Crypto highlighted the climb as a move toward its highest level since January 2026. A separate analyst, Pumpius, noted that the rally began from support near $0.985, fueling optimism among traders.
Analyst Crypto Patel identified $1.55 as a crucial resistance point. His market review suggested that a sustained daily close above this price could drive further upward momentum, while failure to clear the threshold might lead to a retracement toward underlying support levels near $1.45.
Crypto Patel outlined the short-term outlook for XRP: if the token can break and hold above $1.55, a new bullish phase could emerge. However, if the resistance remains firm, XRP could revert to a zone of re-accumulation or see a pullback to previous support.
Throughout the trading week, XRP’s price action consolidated just below the $1.55 barrier, while buyers defended the $1.45 support across multiple exchanges. Observers described the $1.45–$1.55 range as the immediate zone to watch for potential breakout or reversal signals.

ETF inflows reach three-month peak
US spot XRP exchange-traded funds (ETFs) attracted $39.78 million in net inflows between August 17 and 21, the highest weekly total since May. Across all funds, cumulative net inflows climbed to around $1.55 billion. On August 21, trading activity reached approximately $18 million, with Bitwise, Grayscale, and Franklin responsible for the largest share of inflows.
Trading volumes in the Bitwise XRP ETF have sharply increased, with over $80 million traded in a single session and daily volumes above $60 million for two consecutive days—levels not seen since the fund’s launch, according to Teddy Fusaro, president of Bitwise.
ETF inflows had previously slumped in early August, when weekly totals dropped about 93% to $1.01 million. As of this week, total net assets held in major XRP ETFs approached $940 million.
Derivatives and network activity intensify
XRP futures market engagement also surged last week, with open interest reaching $3.72 billion on August 24, as reported by analytics platform CoinGlass. Over the same 24-hour period, XRP futures trading volumes totaled $8.84 billion, while spot market volumes were roughly $1.89 billion. The difference between spot and futures activity signals elevated use of leveraged positions, which can heighten price volatility around resistance levels.
On-chain activity further underscored strong market sentiment. Analyst Ali Charts observed that active addresses on the XRP Ledger soared 654.71% in a short span, leaping from 47,180 to 356,070. Such rapid upticks in address activity are often seen as a reflection of increased user participation and tend to coincide with more volatile price movements.
Mini dictionary: XRP Ledger (XRPL), launched by Ripple Labs, is a decentralized blockchain technology specifically designed for fast and low-cost cross-border payments. The native token, XRP, powers on-chain transactions and is used by financial institutions for remittance solutions.
Ripple, the company behind the development of the XRP Ledger, confirmed ownership of 37.66 billion XRP tokens as of June 30, with 32.6 billion locked in on-ledger escrow. In addition, on August 3, Ripple disclosed new strategic investments in ZILO and Licuido, as part of a move to expand its transfer agency services and collateral management infrastructure.
Despite the recent rally, XRP remains well below its all-time high of $3.84 set in January 2018. Traders are closely following price behavior in the $1.45 to $1.55 zone, with renewed attention on whether XRP can decisively overcome the $1.55 resistance level in upcoming sessions.
