CryptoCompass editorial visual for altcoins coverage.

In Brief:

  • XRP Ledger recorded 11,432 new accounts, more than four times its 30-day average of approximately 2,700.
  • Exchange operations, wallet migrations, and application onboarding could explain the spike, but account creation alone cannot establish sustained user growth.
  • XRP retreated toward $1.46 from $1.65, while traders monitored $1.50 resistance and the former breakout area near $1.40 for support.

The XRP Ledger recorded 11,432 new accounts in a single reading, more than four times its recent daily average. According to XRPScan data, the 30-day average stood near 2,700 accounts, making the increase unusually large.

The latest figure represents a rise of roughly 323% against that average, while XRPScan displayed a separate 245.1% daily increase. Those percentages reflect different comparison points, although both show that account creation moved well beyond its recent range.

Even with the increase, the reading remained below XRPScan’s displayed all-time high of 30,600 accounts. It also fell short of a peak near 15,000 earlier in 2026, while ranking among the larger spikes of the past year.

The figures establish how many accounts appeared, but they do not identify the people or organizations behind them. Exchange operations, wallet migrations and application onboarding could each generate numerous accounts within a short period.

Moreover, account creation does not necessarily mean the same number of new users joined the network. On the XRP Ledger, funding an eligible address with enough XRP creates an account, according to the network’s documentation.

An exchange could therefore activate many addresses for existing customers, while an application could prepare wallets for its users. Examining the funding addresses and subsequent transactions would help establish whether the accounts reflect broader activity.

Account Growth Coincides With XRP’s Pullback

The surge in account creation occurred during a volatile period for XRP, which climbed from approximately $1.40 to $1.65. XRP moved above a declining resistance line during that advance, but sellers subsequently pushed its price toward $1.46.

The pullback brought the former resistance area around $1.39 to $1.40 back into view. Meanwhile, the cited 200-day moving average stood lower, near $1.36, providing another reference point for the price structure.

On the upside, XRP would need to regain $1.50 before approaching the cited resistance levels near $1.57 and $1.65. Those levels describe the recent price range, although they do not explain the rise in account creation.

The timing may draw attention, but the available figures do not show whether new accounts purchased XRP. Some addresses may support payments, exchange services, or applications rather than purchases of the token.

Additional data on transactions and account activity would clarify whether the newly activated addresses remain in use. Repeatedly elevated creation figures would also carry different implications from a single concentrated activation event. XRPScan’s reading shows a substantial increase in XRPL accounts, while the source and lasting effect of the spike remain unclear.
