Developers are now able to incorporate Mastercard’s VI credential into the x402 payment flow. This upgrade enables each transaction to be cryptographically validated by proving who authorized the payment, the allowed spending amount, and the specific item or service being purchased.

The system uses an embedded risk engine in the XRPL Facilitator to automatically analyze every payment request, ensuring only properly authorized transactions proceed.
