XRP is drawing attention from cryptocurrency analysts after moving closer to a pivotal resistance level identified at $1.5692. Dark Defender, a widely followed crypto analyst known for his technical chart studies, has described this price as “the Gate”—a threshold that could determine the asset’s next major directional move.

Key technical resistance: “the Gate”

As of now, XRP is trading near $1.52, putting the token within striking distance of the $1.5692 target highlighted by Dark Defender. This level aligns with the 85.40% Fibonacci extension on his weekly analysis and also coincides with a descending yellow trendline that has served as resistance since early 2025.

This trendline follows XRP’s notable price surge of over 500% after a major rally in 2025. As the price approaches both the trendline and the Fibonacci target, the overlap forms a significant technical zone that traders are watching closely for potential breakout signals.

Dark Defender has described XRP as “very close to the Gate, $1.5692.” He has suggested that surpassing the yellow resistance could result in a much faster upward move, using the phrase “move at light speed.”

Mini dictionary: Fibonacci extension, a technical analysis method that projects potential price targets using mathematical ratios derived from the Fibonacci sequence. It is often used to forecast support and resistance zones beyond standard retracement levels.

Targets above “the Gate”

The analyst’s weekly chart marks several Fibonacci extension targets beyond the $1.5692 threshold. These include $1.8815 (161.80% extension), $2.9032 (200%), $4.1043 (261.80%), and $7.0786 (361.80%). Dark Defender regards these levels as sequential targets should XRP break through the critical resistance area.

Meanwhile, the Ichimoku cloud—a trend-following technical indicator—shows that XRP has been trading beneath a bearish cloud configuration since 2025, highlighting ongoing resistance. A green marker at the $1.5692 level underlines its importance in the analyst’s scenario.

Fibonacci Extension Price Target 85.40% $1.5692 161.80% $1.8815 200.00% $2.9032 261.80% $4.1043 361.80% $7.0786

Breakout scenario and price history

Dark Defender argues that a decisive break above $1.5692, alongside a weekly close above the descending trendline, would confirm a bullish breakout. This scenario could allow XRP to reach successive Fibonacci price objectives, assuming positive follow-through.

The analyst also references recent “Moon” signals marked on his chart at major lows, including around $0.49 in late 2024 and near $0.90 in August when XRP surged more than 50% in just 65 hours. These past signals added to the optimism regarding a potential rally following a resistance breakout.

Dark Defender emphasizes the significance of “the Gate” at $1.5692 and reiterates his conviction that a break of both this level and the trendline resistance could prompt an accelerated move toward higher targets.

Present price conditions

XRP is currently trading near $1.52, leaving the token approximately 1.4% below the resistance area identified by the analyst. The all-time high for XRP stands at $3.66, recorded in July 2025. Price activity in the coming trading sessions will determine whether XRP can decisively clear “the Gate” and initiate a new upward trend.
